Even if you side with her and she survives, there's a good chance she died in the Chantry when it went kaboom.

Nope, its stated she wasn't present, off rallying Chantry support.

Not dead in every game.

How do you avoid her death? I am going through a new playthrough right now, and would actually like to see Petrice survive.

In addition to everything everyone else has said, I think you have to play an aggressive Hawke to get Varnell to believe you'll side with him.

Thanks for the additional tip! I don't really like Petrice, but I do like variability.

Omg, but Petrice is not dead at all. When you side with Chantry you can murder Qunari heretics, and she  will thank you for your support and says she will stand by your side in the future. She might as well be a new Grand Cleric of Kirkwall.

And people complained about not having choices in DA2, if you don't even try other options, then of course there is no choice!

If I see her, I'll probably stab her. And if I can't then maybe I'll write a fanfiction where I do. And then laugh and make jokes on her grave.

Exactly. Everyone in the chantry dies.

You have to be a complete dick, but if you side with her and the Templars every time then it's possible she could live.

I'd rather not see her again in a cameo though. These voice actors don't work FOR FREE. And money spent on some characters who may or may not appear could be better spent on characters who always appear.

Yes Bioware, it is obvious from your previous games voice actors list that you spend far too much money on all the additional voices actors and should basically shorten it so you just hire the protagonist, party members and main antagonist voice actors to do everything, Viscious has spoken, make it so...

@Ser Ulrich, A Knight's Tale is a great movie

on topic- besides Petrice living what else happens if you side with Varnell. Any dialogue change with the Arishok or something like that?

She says so herself, she's no longer a Mother, but forming a radical, anti-Qunari splinter Chantry. Therefore, she may well have left Kirkwall by the time Anders destroyed the Chantry.

Only if you play an aggressive Hawke and allow Varnell to kill the Qunari will she survive. (any other personality point, and he doesn't believe you <_<). Which is fine, I always kill the little slimeball personally.

I do not think she would show up again, either way

Oh okay. I wasn't even aware she could survive Act 2 so I wasn't sure. I might need to make a playthrough where I side with Varnell now

I'm pretty sure its from talking to her in act3 or comes up in the final mission that she's not present.

I could be wrong and rembering incorrectly, but I know its never stated she died in the explosion, and seeing as she was stripped of her rank, good chance she was never present in the Chantry.

Your Hawke has to have a default aggressive personality, just FYI. You could change it in console.

I think you need an aggressive personality, just so you know.
Ninjad

Yeah I'm making the playthrough where I sided with Petrice and Varnell my personal canon, mostly just because it's so different to my Warden's personality and decisions.

Imo its easiest done with a pro-Templar character as the anti mage choices always seem most aggresive. Plus it also fits roleplaying wise, siding with a mother and the Chantry if your pro-Templar.

But also playing an aggressive pro mage works just as well.

I'm hoping she returned to Orlais after DA2 and that she plays a role in the Inquisition. Like if she died her role is filled by a new Cleric/Mother that we work and interact with.

(Also.. Petrice for LI!)

I tried to spare Sister Petrice, but everytime I killed her or made the Qunari kill her. She was a nuisance and I doubt her actions would've been good for the Chantry's reputation on the long run. Elthina represented faith better.

Did not realize YOU could kill her. Does that require a set personality? I wanted to kill her too, the most satisfying one I get is fireballing Varnell to death.

Don't think you can personally kill her, think the worst you can do is bruise her while rival-mancing herPosted Image

It possibly the most hidden option in the game to save her, i dont expect her to show up. On my 3rd playthrough i decided to play "Horrible Bastard Hawke" and loved that option.

And one of the best choices Imo Posted Image

Would be great if she takes the place of a key cleric/mother in Da3 if she survived.

Hopefully BW didn't forget she could live Posted Image
