Xenophobic is a word inapropriate and doesn't fit Petrice. She's more a fanatic with her religion. She sees the Qun and the Qunari as a threat and believes that the war is inevitable.

As for being a murderer, lol. What does that even mean ? Hawk himself is a murderer.

Hawke isn'a priest.

So its bad for priests to be murderers but anyone else is A-OK?

Nope, murder is bad for anyone. I simply think it's worse for the priests.

Sylvianus wrote...

So ? What's your point exactly ? What's so surprising with a priest that can kill to protect its faith ?

The qunari weren't a threat to the Maker's faith. They didn't start a recruitment campaign. It's not the Qunari's fault if the organization which have the role of helping the poor (and one of them is the Chantry) weren't doing their job properly. I  highly dislike the Qun and its teachings, but in one thing the Arishock was right: the city was full of corruption and misery.
Anyway, the government of the city allowed the qunari to stay in Kirkwall. The Chantry (and expecially a sister/mother) should not be involved with the decision of the government.
By the way, she didn't merely plotted against the qunari. She was willing of letting other people, Andrastian, died and accusing the Qun of it, which I find disgusting for a priest. And killing Seamus is against of what I believe: every people should be free of choosing his/her belief, if they don't hurt other.

Nope I think that if you keep her alive, she leaves the chantry in the act 3 before what happened. She wasn't anymore with Eltina and she wanted to create a schism.

I agree, I remember reading she was leaving Kirkwall. The wisest choice she ever made (and it shines a lot more among her idiotic choices).

The Qunari ultimately attempt to conquer and force convert the whole of Kirkwall, as they intend to do to the whole of Thedas.  How are they not a threat to Andrasteanism?

I am not saying that they're not generally a threat to the Andrastian nations. I'm saying that they weren't a threat for Kirkwall at the point in which Petrice started plotting. And her plotting surely influenced the decision of the Arishok in attacking Kirkwall. Who was the first to kill qunari and qunari converts?
And the qunari didn't want to conquer Kirkwall to begin with. They were forced  to stay there, thanks to Isabela, and thanks to her they were "forced" to invade Kirkwall. Now, I'm not saying that it was right (I find it extremely dumb, expecially because they couldn't possibly believe that their invasion would've last long), but they were "forced" to do this by their belief.
Plus, are you forgetting that the Divine was plotting an Exalted March on the city? Kirkwall deserved a good clean-up and reform. The Chantry should've acted decades ago.
And ultimately, it wasn't Petrice's role to try to stop the "threat" of the qunari in Kirkwall. The city had a ruler, and it was his role to deal with the qunari. Not a member of the Chantry, and not certainly a low-ranking member who fomented the common folk. Even her ideas were right (which I don't think so) ther actions were wrong.

And she's right about the threat of the Qunari.  Her mistake was sinking to their level.

People find all kinds of things attractive.....for reasons I cannot fathom.
But then again, I have a disturbing attachment to a moody, possessed blonde vagrant who blows up a Chantry, so I won't talk about liking zealots.

I think it's more of a rivalmance thing. Like how I despise Margaret Thatcher with every fibre of my being, but when I see clips where she was Prime Minister, I find her strangely attractive.Posted Image

Hawke should of totally had angry sex with Petrice against the altar in the Chantry under the watchful eyes of the Maker

I'm seriously considering that you don't know how a true priest should act.

I wouldn't use me as a measure for normality, just so you know. I cried at Saw 3 when Jigsaw died and this one time when I had my hair just perfect, then opened the front door to realise it's pouring outside and I have no way to protect it, (all my hoods are defective).

I also have no idea who Paul Ryan is, but I do have the same reaction to Sarah Palin. And I don't think anyone finds Thatcher attractive, just so you know. Posted Image

But, back on topic, I'd love Petrice to play an important part in DA3, or at least a Petrice like character she may have inspired. Posted ImageMake it Lily who got out of Aeonar! That doesn't really work, but I'd love to see her again! And, let's face it, Petrice probably wouldn't be allowed to live much longer if she's opposing the Qunari so publically. She'll need replacements.

Or we should've forced Anders and Fenris (or Sebastian, but not everyone haad the DLC) to make out by knifepoint. Just to shut them up so they can feel unclean and never even want to look at each other, much less speak.

Back on topic: we do never hear about Lily, Jowan and all those minor characters. Granted, they never got imported, but I kinda wonder how a not-dead Jowan would respond to the dead Circle.

That wasn't the topic, sry. If we don't have a live Petrice, surely we can get a related-to-her zealot to hate....

The information given in both games by codex entries, and the way the majority of the priests acted, suggested a way a priest of the Chantry should act. A Chantry's priest takes vows of celibacy and chastity (which I find stupid, but they're still Chantry's rules), and I'm pretty sure that having sex in the Chantry is forbidden.
About the bolded part, it's not a fact you can decide by yourself, She is a Chantry's priest, so she shouldn't have sex on the Chantry (among other things, like plotting assassinations). Do you think she shouldn't be a priest?

Leliana isn't a priest. Leliana clearly stated that she didn't take any vow of chastity, while the initiates (the Chantry's lowest rank) take them.
