Why wouldn't you? Without these characters, the game would be Animal Crossing without any form of conflict. These horrible characters like Petrice, Isolde and Vaughn might inspire great hatred amongst the fan base, but that's what makes them great, because they can inspire these strong feelings.

Agreed, she was a great character who inspired feelings of anger and loathing.
Which is why I cheered and fist pumped when that Qunari perforated her skull

Petrice has a lot to do with Qunari, and I haven't kept up much with DA3 news, are the Qunari even part of it? I know they keep saying they will invade but I thought 3 was about the mage/templar war, Petrice really didn't seem to care much at all about that.

Given DA2, the comics, the DLC MOTA, I think the Qunari will be a part of the next episode. I'm also certain Dragon age inquisition won't be only about the mage / templar war. Even in DAO while it was about fighting the blight, we had several threads. Petrice alive is unlikely to be important for sure, but could still play a minor role though. I hope so at the very least. She implied she would play a role, it woult really suck if it was nothing else than useless words and a choice that doesn't matter.
