If you notice, the IGN article says it's only for PC. So I'd imagine that it's for all three. I can't seem them releasing it for one or two platforms and leaving the other one or two out in the cold.

Are you guys reading the same article I am?

'Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening, the first official expansion pack
which is slated to be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 16,
2010.'

I wonder if they do make an official announcement here at the social site, they will use the news subforum the created recently. I wonder this because they didn't use it for the news about the delay of RtO.

Yep. Click "Game Highlights" up above the article and you see this:

Release Date: March 16, 2010

Exclusively on: PC

That's what I was referring to.

I'm hoping the image for the video is just a shot of a comic or something, because it's definitely a step down from the in-game graphics. lol

I can't get the screenshots to load either.

Also I don't know where people get this crazy hourage from. I played the game through and read everything, opened everything, listened to everyone talk, did every sidequest and didn't skip anything and I got it done in 41 hours.
No idea how it takes people longer than that.

That was for a single origin story. Since there are 6 different origins with different story lines, the overall game length rises

Yeah, the IGN screens or videos don't seem to be working for some reason. The article says that BioWare and EA announced it today, so, I'd expect to see it on other sites later on today. The pictures and videos should also be available elsewhere later on.

As for the expansion, it would have caught me completely off-guard if not for the rumours. Certainly wasn't expecting it. A Gray Warden from Orlais? Finally finding out what the Architect wants? More Dragon Age goodness? Count me in!

Man... Give me back my life!

I am on my 7th or 8th week with my 1st character, on my 107th hour... just started Landsmeet. (well i have completed other origins though, but they are stucked at Ostagar).

Man, I was thinking the expansion will come maybe only in a year or so, and I could regain part of my life back. At the rate they are releasing DLC and Expansion, and at the rate that I am going, I will probably be still be on my first character after 3 years!

That sounds like a good timing, so just ready to export your character to DAO2 Image IPB

I guess there is some truth to the rumor :)

Not much there, but atleast the title seems to be correct.

Also Gamespot is reporting it now

That's what I was referring to.

That's weird. And sad if true for us console users. But I doubt they would release it for pc only, seems strange. Or haven't DAO sold well on consoles? Either way I'm excited. I haven't visited these forums (or played the game) for a month and comes back right to this thread. This expansion will come just in time for a Mass Effect 2 break I believe. :)

If the announcement says it will come to consoles, it will. IGN just hasn't bothered to keep their information accurate.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. the GameSpot listing only has it for consoles and not for the PC. So I'd say it's just a case of not checking all the right boxes before posting something, or something easily fixed but easily overlooked as well. They wouldn't dare release a true expansion for one format and not the other two, the fallout potential would be far too high.

Its for all three platforms according to IGN article, so no worries.

The thing that is exciting is Orlesians and FIVE new companions! And where was Morrigan heading in the Epilogue...hmm? could be interesting! :-)

Maybe this is just me with weird definitions of words, but how is making a new character an expansion? DLC, sure. But an expansion? Making a new character for a 15hour adventure isn't expanding on anything.

Maybe it's just me, meh

You did read the part where it says you can transfer your original character over right? Also how it takes place after the OC with the Warden in the new Warden's HQ of Ferelden in Amaranthine and an expanded storyline?

Also, a lot of games only last 15 hours, 15 hour is about right for an 'expansion' anything more would really be moving into the 'sequel' territory

Edit: @Rhinna
I highly doubt Morrigan is going to be in it, especially due to where she was heading.

Amaranthine is in the north east of ferelden

It depends. if you're a completionist 100 hours are definitely not  outrageous. I'm 40 hours in and I did only Redcliffe and the Circle of Magi. I doubt my playthrough will be under 100 hours.
