Interesting.
It would be great if it was true. But I would be surprised if they could create a major expansion so quickly.
What is so quick about it? DAO was basically done last summer and put on hold for the console versions. yes they polished and added more to it, but they could ofd certainly split the team and set people off on an expansion.
I have more of a hard time believing they think they can sell a 15 hour expansion for $60

The game was originally meant to be released early January 2009 right however was delayed so the console ports could properly be completed so it would make sense if the story, characters have been developed and it's currently in beta testing.

Also I don't know where people get this crazy hourage from. I played the game through and read everything, opened everything, listened to everyone talk, did every sidequest and didn't skip anything and I got it done in 41 hours.
No idea how it takes people longer than that.
Because more then likely you didn't do everything. You may think you did, but there is no way you beat the game doing everything in 41 hours unless you played on easy, maybe normal. Lot's of hidden things in the game, quests that never pop up in your journal that are hidden in the codexs, a lot of things and people that are easy as hell to miss. Like I said unless you played one easy I don't see any way you can beat the game doing every little thing and reading all the codex in 41 hours.
I played it through on Normal and completed everything, read every codex entry, did every hidden quest. 41 hours.
I'm a very experienced RPG player so maybe this comes into account. But anything over 50 hours on 1 playthrough...I mean...what the hell?

Hi. Welcome to Australia & New Zealand. We pay pretty much double what the rest of the world does for games for no good reason except the distributors are enjoying reaping the benefits from charging exactly the same price as when exchange rates were far different than they are now.Viglin wrote...
Just found this link, that actually gives a price and listed under a dealer in New Zeland it seems;
kotaku.com/5437942/dragon-age-retail-expansion-coming-in-march
If lm reading it right, $40 for an exspansion...seems a little high?

Going by your profile, it took you 48 hours on one playthrough, 46 on another.
Just saying.
And lm sorry, but you had to have skipped conversations, codex readings, and been in high speed to get those times on your first go.
Ive been playing rpgs since P.O.R back in 88...and my first playthrough was around 60 hours, and l doubt l did EVERYTHING.

I keep reading that consoles seem to slow the progress of DLCs and expansions .... Could you imagine how much more content we would see if there was no console versions?

Maybe Bio's announcing development on a boxed X-Pack in March and the krauts just missed something in translation. LOL

Right... cuz IGN got scooped by some German blog... and they're stealth releasing a boxed X-Pack in two months without any advertisement or fanfare...

How much advertising do you think really needs to be done for a small expansion. Two months of hype and little tidbits of info is plenty for something that contains 15 hours worth content. Advertising costs money and you got to make sure the amount you spend is relative to the product you're putting out.

lol i'm not saying they werent a success, they made tons of money for Bioware/EA. Just sayin, that it sucks that consoles are being very annoying when it comes to getting additional content released for them. I cant remember what Rob said in the RTO thread, but didnt it have to do with getting certificated or authorized or something on the PS3?
