I've heard of VE3D, never heard of Blues News. The problem with VE3D is it's
just like wiki if I remember right, users can go on and post articles
at will. Whatever, we'll know for sure within a few weeks.

Blues and VE3D both go back to the days before IGN and UGO.  The admins know everyone.  Neither is a wiki site.  I couldn't actually locate any site getting a denial from anyone in the know.  It still remains exactly as possible as it isn't possible. 

Time will tell!

It's just a rumor for now but with solid background - I guess we can expect official revelation very soon

I am not convinced until I hear something more believable.....obscure sites and blogs nobody heard about are just trash......I could make a blog and start fabricating BS if I was interested in BS.....but I'm not.

I wonder what place the expansion will took place (since the news mention a whole new map). I was thinking about Orlais but that's rather big amout land to be covered by xpack so I came to the conclusion we will travel just one step west over Frostback mountains to the Dales and the Arbor Wilds - not to the Orlais itself. Map here:

Why do you create another character for 15 hours of gameplay? That'd just be basically another game - not an expansion pack. A legitimate expansion pack will allow you to use your same PC. Don't be fooled...

To further sink your battleship, I'll point out episodic games are being kicked around by Lucas Arts these days.  The are releasing those Monkey Island games in episodes...  The rumors is that these 15 hours are an episode of some sort of expansion pack.

Is any of it true?  We have zero idea.    COULD it be true?  Sure!     But BioWare will tell us eventually and then we'll all either instantly abandon these threads and get our OMG on for the next DLC/XPack, or we'll be like "damn them wacky Czechs are good for leaks!" 

While you are entirely correct, let me give an example closer to home.

I was searching and i found out that maybe this expansion will talk about what happened to duncan, because we all know that the darkspawns take prisioners, so he may be one of them, and you must go to rescue him, thats why they are gonna announce it after RTO is launched.

Rather hope this isn't true, actually. While I would really like an expansion, a 15 hour expansion with a new main character (and new NPC companions) hardly seems long enough to really develop the story and characters. And 15 hours seems just a bit light if I'm paying an expansion pack price, instead of say $10 for a big DLC mod.



Tell me you have a 25+ hour expansion continuing the adventures of your original DA:O character, and then I'll get excited, otherwise I'm likely to take a pass on buying it.

This post is exactly why they shouild never make any announcements until the product is finished. You will never make some people happy in and god forbid you slip past your announced release date by a week or so to fine tune the product. I do have patience! I'm just going by their record to date. I love DA:O<3 and have Biopoints pre-ordered for RTO:wizard:. My whole complaint:crying: is that they will announce this like they did with RTO then not say anything for weeks on end or make up some excuse as to why it is late-_- Keep us updated with Honesty and we will be fine, if it takes more time tell us the truth as to why, period:happy:

your sense of entitlement is a little overdone. bioware does not have to tell you a thing about why. bioware often explains things on here as a courtesy, which you are not very appreciative of. the more people act like this, the LESS bioware will tell us.

Normally I'd follow this thought as well, but Bioware did just get back to the office today, I believe a mod or someone from Bioware said they were on vacation until the 4th so obviously that accounts for the silence.

Hmm, they need to do announcement about RtO tommorow - so let's wait and see if they comment this rumour also (they really should - at least tell us when they will make xpack announcement)

What i personally would love to see from the DA expansion is some new big badass multileveled dungeon full of dragons/undead mages(which used to be called "liches")/minibosses/puzzles like Durlag's Tower or Watcher's Keep from the BG saga. Nothing like this "new origin with new companions bla bla" thing. Those rumors actually scare me. Sounds like what Rockstar did with their GTAIV addons.



I prefer new content that integrates well with the storyline letting me use my current character rather than some new storyline with a new character i'm forced to use.

I don't think they will or should at this point. No reason to do anything that overshadows RtO's release and a confirmation or denial of this rumor would create a bigger buzz then the release of RtO. My guess is if they do say something offical either way, it'd come sometime next week.

Well personaly I really liked what Rockstar did with GTA IV episodes...

I'm not saying they did a bad work. Actually they did a pretty good work, with some addons actually worth the price in terms of length and new content. But i'm just a nostalgic guy, i'd like to see some long, hard, exciting dungeon like the old BG ones.

This is a rumor. Now if this came from a website that we have heard of(IGN, Gamespot, etc) then I might be alittle more likely to believe this. I'm not saying that they wont make an expansion pack, maybe even mulktiple ones but I don't think ones coming in March. If memory serves me right though, please forgive me for not finding a link, they did say that they would make content for dragon age origins and not just dlc but expansions as well.



Also expansion packs do not need to allow you to play as your character from the original game. I mean how would that work exactly for those that sacrificed themselves to kill the archdemon. This expansion pack would be useless to them.



I do hope though that this rumor is true. Please Bioware just say whether it is true or not soon.
