You've got the point, it would be probably unwise to announce both xpack and dlc together. On the other hand - the buzz is already here all over the internet - whether they say something or not. They are in very difficult position now because RtO should be out before Christmas so that the begining of January was free for announcement of expansion. And if it's really scheduled for March 19th they should announce it as soon as possible. Mass Effect 2 release is less than four weeks away and they need to reserve at least 14 days before it for creating massive anticipation among the players (that means some new info on it every day, advertisments everywhere etc..). No way they can announce it after it. That leaves very short time window for another DA announcement so I would say either later this week or early next week are the only options.

Hopefully a Bioware rep can shed at least some light onto the subject, either shoot the rumor down or maybe confirm it with a PC date.

My thinking? The website that reported this is in a foriegn language, and what it really means to say is that it will support a new PARTY MEMBER, and a new origin, like perhaps the dropped Human Commoner origin? I mean, is there a reason Human Noble origin is called "NOBLE"? What's to differeniate it from not-Noble?



Still, my guess is that A) Its true, New party member, and C) has new content.

The rumor mention a retail pack, and still just now about 2 months before the the rumored release date, there is no "pre-order" for an expansion pack on any retailer website, which is why I'm a bit sceptic about Expansion Retail Pack being released at mid-March.
As you hint if the rumor is however true, it should be announced officially soon.
Else since there is no official words on it, that means no official release date, which means they can change the release date and so the pre-announced date as well to better fit their marketting goal.

Gamestop got this from EA or Bioware, honestly they would not have made this up from a foreign game news site.

It's pretty clear - if a store is advertising with that much detail, it's pretty much a done deal (release date non-withstanding.)

Course, if Bioware folds or some such it could get canceled.

This looks pretty official to me, with pre-order and all... I just wished they patched the original game before releasing expansions... *sighs*.. it will be like NWN2? Hope not... all bugs not solved and xpack after xpack... C'mon Bioware!!! Patch the game first then grab MOAR money!

nice find. Not a surprise that GameStop has something like this before an official announcement. i remember when Halo 3 was out for pre-order 1 1/2 years before the official announcement.

I would check again on GameStop next month to see if it's still there for pre-order. If it is still there then most likely then an expansion pack will be coming out then. Knowing that they already have a shipment date for this then i think there is more truth than not to this expansion pack, but we'll see though.

Rumor? Bah, whatever. If the US online retailers are starting to accept pre-orders with a shipping date, you can bet that the rumor is confirmed. This news helps offset the sadness I feel over having RtO delayed. Now, if only gamestop.ca would get in gear so I can order mine.

i wouldn't think GameStop made up that summary of the game either. Also GameStop wouldn't have a pre-order out and then screw over there customers and say "we were just kidding it's not actually coming out." They got it confirmed somehow and now there accepting pre-orders.

Hmm however I only notice preorder for XBOX360 and PS3 on this website, no PC version ?

Chances are, someone oopsied and shouldn't have enabled those titles yet. I expect to either see an announcement, or those titles vanish from the site.

For all we know, this could be related to the delay for the DLC... someone said "go" and now they've mobilized the Awakening train instead of the DLC.

Really all speculation at this point.... good speculation

i know for one thing right now, you're going to see a Bioware announcement confirming/denying this rumor (which is becoming more credible) by the end of the month i would say.



BTW i also read in the rumor that EA is supposed to make an announcement sometime this month preferably beginning-mid Jan.

Hopefully the fact that game stop is only listing the xbox 360 and ps3 version means they have only put up those versions. We surely will be getting a pc version of this if there is an expansion.

With a quick google, the chatter for this expansion is going nuts everywhere. I would suspect someone's going to move their announcement schedule up a little because of this. Kinda makes you look stupid when you announce something half a month after pre-orders were made available.

This makes you think though for a little....For an expansion pack to come out this early (if the rumor turns out to be true) you would have to think that this was probably in the works when DA:O was still in development (probably late stages).

I can't wait. Crossing my fingers this doesn't turn into a release date of "This Holiday Season".......I wonder how they'll incorporate players who sacrificed themselves. Wonder how they'll take care of the choices you made with the Dark Ritual and the Landsmeet.

Maybe some of them worked on the dlc. And some of them started work on an expansion.
