I still have no played bioshock 2 yet. Have the game , started it up a time or so but didn't get into it. I'll have to get that going again.
I prefer the first one for certain atmosphere aspects, but the second did a fine well job as well, even though critically, it didn't seem "as good" as the first, but the ending to the second one... so sad, won't spoil... neutral is the way to go

It's a good game but the first one is better.

The first one is way better, the 2nd one does far too little to add to the series, the only reason its so good is its using the same setting and style that made 1 so interesting. Its not a bad game at all, but its a carbon clone copy of 1 with a weaker story.
Anyways I thought the new trailer looked pretty amazing.

Meanwhile people are complaining about the box art. Apparently having a male, brown-haired protagonist is bad or something.

Nothing about this game has me interested at all. While I respected the artwork and atmosphere of the first two, this one just looks silly, and I don't understand the hype.
Why does it look silly? I find the relationship between Booker and Elizabeth to be interesting, especially with the whole "tearing through fabric of time" aspect that Elizabeth has. I always been a fan of the series, so I guess I'm biased in I just want more Bioshock

Rapture in bioshock 1 was full of mystery. It's had a very clautrophobic feelling and a very intense immersion. Bioshock 3 look like it's all on your face.. Too much sugar.

The aesthetic is very different from the others, but here is PC Gamer's take on how it compares.sympathy4sarenreturns wrote...

I personally hate it. There's not one thing on the front of the box that stands out to me or gives any clues to what makes BioShock special. From my perspective, it looks like every other generic shooter out there. *
Though I'm planning to buy the Steam version, so it's not like my opinion matters anyway.
*After reading the article you linked to, it appears that was intentional. Boo.

Meh, I don't care. A shot of the protagonist seems very normal to me. But apparently the controversy is that it's "normal."

So, what did you think of the VGA world premier teaser?

Eagerly awaiting this game since the very first 10 minutes of gameplay footage was leaked back in September 2010. No idea why they keep changing the Elizabeth character model, but the box art looks great to me.
They could have gone with something more abstract that focuses exclusively on the unique and strange aspects of the setting, but at the end of the day this is a first person shooter going after the widest possible audience. Consumers respond better to a protagonist being featured in the key art, and you do get a sense of the setting from Decker's costume, the strange gun he's holding and the airship in the background.

Don't get so down on yourself. Your opinion matters, even if it's different from other peoples opinions.
Personally, I like it. Why? I like color. Lots of color.
Bioshock 1 and 2 didn't catch my eye at first, not because of the Big Daddy was strange, but because the color was... lacking. I know that that might seem silly to others, but its how I react to things. This box art for Bioshock Infinate stands out more than other shooters because most other shooters (that I can think of off the top of my head) also lack color and are very brown, or singular in their color scheme. So to me, this makes it more attractive.
However, I do understand why people are upset that the art on the box moved away from the more traditional Bioshock feel, it's a real shame they didn't go with something closer to the gameinfomer art, though it was kinda....brownish, I liked it.
I guess for the most part, I just like to like things.
