I have tried pretty much everything that i can find i have opened ports, turned off the firewall/antivirus even gone through the trouble shooting guide here step by step even complete OS reinstalls and still I cannot install either of the free items as it tells me that it needs version 1.0 of the game (tried all version of the game patched and unpatched) or see any other downloadable content even though i have 1600 points. I have ran out of ideas as to why it just refuses to work and was wondering seeing as there are a lot of posts with similar problems if there is a patch coming very soon to solve these issues? I am currently running Win7 x64 premium Q6600 8gb ram and a gtx260.

Try checking the stickie on how to start/install the DAOupdater service manually.

Should be in here somewhere.

Maybe this will help:



Go to the Systemcontrol/Administration/Service - there you will find a entry named "dragon age..."

then change the status to "started".



I hope this are the correct terms, because i use the german version of windows :-)

thanks for the tips guys but sadly still no joy looks like i am going to have to hope for a patch to solve it
