You don't know what he did to earn the banner.  Lone wolfing isn't something most people can just do, they learn to do it with a specific class, with specific weapons, on a specific map, against a specific enemy.  Unless all those factors align there's no reason to expect a lone wolf banner user to be any more skilled than a player without it.

The fact that he was using a javeline on a salarian infiltrator is pretty good evidence that this was not the case.

Wow the angry replies... So many elite players... Indeed I haven't got it, nor I am jealous. I didn't assume krogan vanguard against geth, I assumed tech classes, preferably quarian infiltrator because I saw how many of my friends got the achievement. And I assumed most players who tried it would go vs geth because the lack of insta-kills, because they're controllable, and because let's face it, 95% of them did it versus geth.I wonder if you would have to get all 4 objectives and not just 3, how many of you "elites" would have it. And about the grinding part I am right. Show me one guy that got the banner from 1st try, the "hard" way, and I'll eat my keyboard.

P.S.2 @Unrestrikted I am curious as to how many tries did it take and what objectives you had?

I got mine kroguard vs geth. Does that mean I can solo with every kit? No, I have kits in which I can carry a team and others that I am not so proficient with. He might have been trying to get the tech and sniper rifles banner and wasn't familiar with the kit. I know that my attempt to get banners has forced me in to unfamiliar territory.

The set up with the Javelin pretty much indicates the lonewolf had no intention of soloing, plus he joined a group. The way I see it this group is probably the kind to get themselves killed, not medigel, and want to be saved and carried for a mistake they made. I would be spinning in circles until the enemy took me down.

The other day, I had a similar set up actually, and my whole team had died for the third time. I ran in to the first phantom I saw once the wave 6 objective had been completed.

Three people working together go down, so at the very least you can assume they were in a bad spot in a hot zone and chose not to fall back. Common mistake.

But... 3 players who go down in a hot area are very difficult to revive for ONE player. Surely there's something you can do to make his job easier, like using a medigel and leaving the area that's so overrun it's impossible to enter. It's one thing to take a stray hit from a well defended position, but if you don't recognize when it's time to leave, there's almost no helping you.  Don't punish the lone wolf for a mistake you made.  This is the time for all three people to use medigel, run for it and regroup.  It costs 3 players less to use one medigel each than it does for 1 player to successfully revive 3 players.

Unless the lone wolf is a gracious saint who equips a medigel transmitter and sacrifices a gel to revive all three of you, in which case, why didn't any of YOU have one?

This is simply another /coolstorybro about a team that wasn't communicating when they got flanked.

Who uses a Javelin in gold? When i first got it ages ago i used it from time to time on sliver and bronze for the instant kills but it is too slow in gold. Better off using Black widow or Valient plus it is waaayy to heavy for a infiltrator to work effectively. You sure he was a lone wolf player or were you telling a story? <_<

That and someone is jealous they dont have a lone wolf banner.  Even the best players can get downed in a match when everyones goes down.  Especially if the 3 who went down already screwed up the spawn points.  As others said not all kits are meant to carry or solo.   I am getting sick of all the lone wolf hate and bragging threads enough is enough already.

Stop generalizing, I got mine U/U w/ 1,2,3,4 - object recovery and hack cirlce - survived 10 waves medal.Did it again straight after.

I don't post on here much but, this one kind of irked me. I have Lone Wolf. In fact it was the first title/banner I got since it looked to me to be the fastest one to get and I just have some bronze solos to finish it again. However, that doesn't mean I am some kind of God who is going to carry a team every time I am in a match. It means I am pretty handy with a Kroguard against the Geth. I play other classes well and have soloed with them, but Kroguard is just hands down the easiest to solo with.

Since the Retaliation release I have been spending most of my time in Silver though. I am using oddball loadouts to maximize my medal progress and have strayed away from my strong suits. I stick to Silver because I don't like going into Gold and being carried. Maybe your Lone Wolf was working on his Javelin medal and its not his strong suit, I can tell you I had a hell of a time working up the SMG medal after I finished with the Hurricane.

Bottom line is just cause someone is handy with a Kroguard does not mean they are going to put every team on their back every match.

He was using a bosskiller build. Easy to get overrun by the low-level guys. The style of play you adopt when soloing vs. playing with others also changes how you clutch a bit, sometimes. It can be hard to switch from being aggressive to somewhat defensive.

So much lone wolf hate... it's annoying. I unlocked 3 other banners already, but until I get 'Monster,' I'm sticking with 'Lone Wolf'' so that ****tards like the OP boot me.

Also some times I had left myself be killed just because my team sucks, some of us are not interested in carring everyone, and certainly I am not a credit hog... I can live with a wipe, taking longer than 20 minutes on a gold match with a 4 people team? that I cannot stand.

Clutching it depends a lot on what state you left the spawns in. Generally, clutching it is easier than solo'ing because the wave budget will be noticeably depleted. However, if all the enemies are spread out, it may take some time to get them all coming from the same direction again. I'll usually spend the first couple minutes of a broken wave running in circles until everything is being kited the right way. Then, it's the same as solo'ing. However, if everyone went down in a cluster****, often the spawns are so messed up that it will take at least one rocket to reset the field.

I just hate a-holes who think lone wolfs are always bad.

I just saved our team on Rio by leaving the wave-10 hack objective by luring 2 banshees and a brute away from the group. I then stayed away from the circle to kill 2 other banshees.

One of the players in the hack kept yelling at me to assist them in the circle - but I said it was better to keep all the heat away from them.

When we successfully finished the extraction he cusses me out and starts a vote-kick process. He said he'd rather die as a team than have some idiot getting points outside of the objectives.

You are assuming that anyone who has the Lone Wolf banner used a Kroguard vs Geth... You're not very smart huh?

Have you ever considered that maybe alot of us didn't do it the easy way? I can personally vouch for a number of people on BSN who soloed Platinum to get it, the fact that you made those assumptions proves that you clearly either:

A - Haven't got it
or
B - Are jealous of those that can actually solo Gold, without that setup.

How about you go back into whatever hole you crawled out from? That would solve many problems wouldn't it?

Most people got by the easy way, you can be sure of that, so unless I go to your N7 HQ and see that you did platinum, or you tell me that you did it with some crazy build, I have to agree that lone wolf means nothing. Mine means nothing, I won't even use it, I have no patience for solos, did only for the points...

I'm getting my own Lone Wolf banner only because it's fast to get, sick of getting kicked because I came back to the game recently, no challenge points, no banner.

You shouldn't pay to much attention to it, for me this banner would have "worth" only if Platinum solo was required.

 Meh perhaps he just didn't care. I know there have been times where I could try and solo the match but sometimes I just don't want to waste a bunch of medigel on a team that I'm unsure I can count on for the rest of the match.

This probably makes me a bad person.
