DC has some great stuff. I love the Flash, especially Wally West, and Batman is of course awesome. And the DCAU is still probably the best animated incarnation of comics ever. But I am more of a Marvel fan.

The thing with Batman is that he sometimes emotionally abuses his own family. He treats them as soldiers, disregarding their feelings. So he doesn't have quite that mary sue sheen.Lotion Soronnar wrote...
Also, Hulk is the worst superhero in the history of forver. Bad concept, bad implementation, bad everything.
Superman is also boring.
Batman is a giant Mary Sue....but he's a Sue poeple love.

Oh please...every woman wants to be with him. Every man wants to be him. He continously 1-ups practicly every superhero out there.
He surpased being a "normal human" ages ago when he started lifting over 1 ton, induring redicolous punishement, running around with superhumans, sneaking up on Superman, mastering every form of marshal art in the world + several sceince degrees in a span of a few years.
I love the guy, but let's face it - he's too awesome to be taken seriously anymore.
But back to the important question.. Marvel or DC?
Neither.
They both need to die

I would like to see ancient mythical heroes with any of Eastern Asian, Iranian, German and Slavic origins reborn in modern world and replace these comic ones.

You left out punching Darkseid. Come on!
I really like Young Justice, but comics wise I dropped most of DC with the reboot, and I the only regular I follow from Marvel is X-Factor. The NOW thing just looks like the gimmik after the yearly crossover with more marketing.

Running with Superhumans works for Bats, when they have him serve as the stratagist, and not a primary ass kicker.
And when did he lift 1 ton?

Well it can't be my username but...
is the best show related to comic books.Of course, having some of the greatest writers in comic book history has its advantages.
Oh and Watchmen is one of the best comic books ever so yeah... another point to DC.

Batman has roughly the same problem as Wolverine. That is, that fanboys started writing the characters and exagerating what they could do.

I believe it was in one of the comics featuring the Court of Owls. He was holding up a boulder twice his size.
The mid/late 90's started changing Batman's body more and more. In time
he was given much, much more strength and his body and muscles grew in
size as the years progressed. Soon he was shown to perform such inhuman
tasks as kicking in steel doors, ripping out prison bars and punching
through the hood of the car. He was visibly bigger and could lift 1000
lbs as his daily routine

Also DC's Demon Knights is really underrated. IMHO, it is easily the best DC book out right now.

You wouldn't happen to be the poster previously known as "Batman_PWNS" would you?
Watchmen is waaaaaaay too overrated IMHO, great story, but seriously over-hyped.

Yeah, don't think it would work on the guy in the pic...given that
Light also needs to stay alive long enough to find out the name and has to know the face.

I was thinking of getting into Marvel with Civil War, but I can never seem to find a simple list of what order I should read the TPBs in. So, any tips on easily getting into Marvel? If it helps to be specific I am more interested in the following: X-Men, The Punisher, Daredevil, and Hawkeye. Granted, my choices are all based on movies which I'm guessing probably don't represent the comics very well. Any other reccomendations are appreciated too.
I also read DMZ until like volume 10 or so, but stopped when Matty became much less of a hero. I want to root for my protagonist, not hate him.

Lobo and The Question (Vic).
Though I like Squirrel girl. her whole purpose was to be funny and she is. Not so much Deadpool. the dude has gone stale and I'm tired of him.

Aren't we all as human beings missing the obvious fact that unites us as a species? Can't we all just get along and agree that both Marvel and DC comics are in fact teh lame?

I'm a die hard Deadpool fan, but I'll be the first to admit his recent series was lackluster at best. He was just poorly written. His role in Uncanny X-Force however has been wonderful.DarkKnightHolmes wrote...

Also, keep in mind, the Question was originally created for anothr company that DC bought out. So they didn't give us him, they just kept him going. Still cool though.

Honestly though I have been enjoying the reboot, mostly been reading Earth 2 related comics but it's an interesting take on classic golden age characters.
Also it helps the writers since they don't have to worry about something that happenned 10 20 years ago and how to make it fit or retcon.
