I just played with a Slayer who didn't have Charge and used a N7 Crusader and a CSR.

Could someone enlighten me on the logic behind a loadout like this?

(He joined mid-game, otherwise I would've kicked him, obviously.)

Challenges.

Those goddamn Challenges. People are trying to rack up points quickly by combining the worst weapons with the classes.

A 0/6/6/6/6 build doesn't require much cooldown Phasor being a no cooldown dependant on shields ability.
So you could have had a no charge phasor built Slayer.
Use Phasor to take out shields and then headshot with the Crusader.
Sounds like a valid tactic to me.

Challenges are no excuse for getting a negative CDR on a Vanguard class. I could understand a Crusader on a Asari Van, but BOTH that and a sniper? Lolno.

I could accept this loadout on a Destroyer or Krentinel/Kroldier.

And as I said earlier, he didn't have Charge. (Mind you, this was a guy with 700 N7 and it was a Reapers/Gold game.)

Yeah, but this guy certainly did not pull it off well and let his CSR overheat all the time.

protip:
sometimes charge is not best solution. It's quite dangerous off-host.

Crusader is still awesome weapon. Shotgun that shoot one slug, with automatic armor-piercing mod, nice range and sniper riffle precision. I can point worse weapons which are in use.

Here i must agree with Ziegrif.(not only because we are both MUTHAPLUCKA CLAYMORE lovers)

edit:

Then He was using a legit strategy, that can be good, very VERY badly.
It's PuGs. What'd you expect? I see a lot of people not put any equipment in pugs and haven't seen even one of those heroes cross the 100k mark dmg wise in predetermined games. Good thing they pulled weight in other areas like objectives, revives, being a REALLY GOOD distraction too!

As far as I know there is no 'complete 200 waves as a vanguard without biotic charge' challenges. That's just....wow.

PD is the slayer's best ability. BC refills shields for more PD. Post patch it is significantly less risky to BC. Can you tell me where 6 points (get it at least to 3) are better spent? (outside of PD)

I think that might top the Black Widow wielding Drell Adepts, without Cluster Nades.

I have seriously seen about half a dozen of these the past few days...

The Slayer is too squishy without BC though.

I'll know the answer to why PUGs are the way they are, once I figure out what the shells are for in Demolition Man.

I feel your pain about PUG's these days.

I just joined a silver match against reapers wave 6 and the first ranked was whispering about how ridiculous his collectors rifle was (he was on a turian ghost).
All it took me was 6 waves and 5 wave-11-missiles to show him how ridiculously overpowered my N7 Fury was.
I ended up on ranking first having quite a lolz about how OP Missiles are :D

Not being serious but that was a quite a fun waste of 5 missiles and aggressive ops pack gameplay, even got sync killed 1 round...

wait ... what?

challenges and the incredible amount of gold and UR cards the RNG has since the DLC
made a lot of bronze and silver players move up to gold and platinium

PUGs getting worse should be noticeable on all platform

The player gimped himself and his team without that odd build and load out. I hav come across slayers in gold pugs who just setup a tech burst every two secs. There are way better classes to use the crusader on - gi, destroyer the soldier classes.

I've played with an N7 Slayer using a Javelin. No, he wasn't awesome, but, he allowed me to get the revives I "needed" llooll. He wasn't that "bad" either. I see your point, though; I've kicked many an a**clown. Mostly 'cause I can and sometimes because their loadouts make me punch babies. That being said, I've got nothing against players experimenting.

Yesterday I played with a GE carrying a Javelin and GPS. When I asked why he was carrying 2 heavy weapons, he said "to glitch." I don't even want to know. He did spend the entire match camping the waterfall on Hydra with his two buddies. Lame.

Worst and best in this game all belong to the eye of the beholder. I treat all my classes biotic, tech or combat as if they all don't have to worry about cooldown and use the weapons I feel with the powers I feel. So how often do you see an asari adept running 2 guns and still biotic detonating? :innocent:

Well, I want my teammates to be useful. As scapegoats or damage dealers, I don't care, as long as they stay alive.

I have two guns on my Fury, Acolyte and Hurricane, so the amount of guns does not matter, your amount of CDR does.
