oh and

Halo 4 has a bittersweet ending

but it is done MILES better than ME3's

While I don't believe a word of this since it isn't even out yet (and you wouldn't be horrible person by spoiling things would you?) of course it would be done better, because the writers aren't trying to do "art".

I watched the leaked ending....both regular and legendary, you KNOW my opinions and my tastes ticonderoga, you posted in the same threads I did often enough. Trust me when I tell you.........you will cry...and you will love it

hell even Mr House likes it

From what I've heard unfortunately from Youtube comments, it's gonna be horribly sad. I'm dreading it, but I can't wait to see it.:crying:

lol do you want a pm about it? You know from my perspective?

That's because everyone, everyone, involved in the dev of H4 was also very emotionally invested in Halo and they understand why other people are too.

Micro$oft unlike EA understand that if they intend on milking their cash cow they need to give it time to have the milk ready.

let's do the math... 343i  is 300 strong and had 4 years to develop the game with a WHOLE YEAR of prototyping .........FOR A SHOOTER

The ME team is 250 strong according to bioware, they a little morevthan two years to finish ME3 which isba story driven RPG

why, thank you EA

I imagine I'll not be investing another penny in the IP until such time as Bioware provide a coherent, satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

Bioware had plenty of years to decide how the series could and should have ended but failed miserably,so when they were writing and testing the ending did they actually say" the fans are going to really love us for this wonderful ending", Hell guys wake up it was damn stupid and even if you thought it was so great then i have news for you,go and get into a different line of work cause you obviously have no idea about anything to do with gaming. As it so happens i've been in the gaming indsutry since the 80's and even i know that was a very WRONG design choice by Bioware and they didn't know or understand that, there really shouldn't be anymore  Mass Effect so just end it as it is and move on.

this is an extraordinarily arrogant insinuation op, the reasons why are self apparent

but seriously who pays 60 dollars (120 in Australia) to imagine a conclusion to a story

The "Epilogue" was series of slides, with a voiceover. Don't want to sound unappriciative but that's what it was. Literally.

Potentially one of the greatest series of games of all time, and they went and finished it with a Powerpoint presentation......

I have been a BioWare fan since Baldur's Gate and I have purchased a lot of their titles. I thought that I knew them, but I was way wrong. Some of that is likely EA's influence, but some of the responsibility rests with BioWare as well. If you have a long time fan that is having second thoughts like me, that means that BioWare has some issues. I was forgiving about DA2. I was forgiving about the recent ME novel. But fouling up ME3 and misleading me about what was coming was the straw that broke the camel's back.

What do I want? I wanted an ending that made sense in the context of the story. What I got wasn't that. Why? Because somebody at BioWare wanted to make 'art' instead of telling a story and in the process they ruined the ending.

I cant believe i actually agree with that sentence.

DA2's ending left me with one of the most emotionally crippled and borderline insane characters I've ever played in any RPG (including PnP Cthulhu), managed to achieve that in a way that wasn't fun for me as the player and was extremely unsatisfying due to massive railroading, a completely nonsensical bossfight and a severe lack of closure.

I also agree with the above sentence as well. Image IPB

Control and merge, Shepard gets closure. You don't need to headcanon anything for this character if you picked that ending, high ems destroy? You have to headcanon, you simply can not say "the game gave me closure." unlike the other two endings. People don't like wasting $60 on something only to be told in the end they have to fill in the blanks because the writer didn't want to.

I'm a huge Halo fan, my second favorite video game series of all time second only to Mass Effect, so I'd like to avoid any further spoilers than what I'm pretty sure I know what happens.

But if you want to pm me with your overall impressions that'd be cool

Fate of Shepard is perfectly clear:

Dead, Overlord of the Universe, or Alive.

Why do you need a reunion cutscene?

Mass Effect 3's plot is perfectly clear:

Shepard gathers allies, solves old grudges, builds an ancient superweapon, unites the galaxy and defeats the Reapers.

Why do you need a video game?

Still haven't got a rebutal.

because it's fun

an hour-long description of Shepard's retirement is not fun

Let me ask you a serious question.

Just how many books come with about 20 or so blank pages at the end for you to fill in yourself?
