Its moot point, because FemShep and Garrus or ManShep and Tali , etc. Can't have children naturally, but Ash, Liara, Jack, they can have children, the thing is,  this might've never work, because its too much for for Writers, also bear in  mind that some people didn't romanced anyone or had a  same sex romance, in the end ME4 will have new hero, and not neccersarlly he/she will be like Shepard, probaly BioWare will go with multi-species protogonits.

That's assuming all Sheps even want a child and it'll most likely end up being Shep+Liara for Bioware so I'd have to play an Asari. Pass.

I think OP is asking if we'd see them, not play as them.
It isn't entirely ridiculous to assume we'll hear something about Shepard's offspring, provided all of the right boxes are checked in your import (if there is an import system) but it's pretty unlikely. There are just too many variables, as mentioned above me.

Since Shepard is just a normal human with some exceptional abilities, he or she shouldn't be spawning a hero dynasty. While hero dynasties might make sense in a fantasy series where the heroes possess magical abilties that are inherited, or because they are the favorites of the gods, it wouldn't make much sense for Mass Effect.

That just wouldn't work. Too many variables. LI's who can't have kids, Homosexual relationships and the fact that Shepard doesn't have to romance anyone at all.

Bad idea. Downsides include not every Shepard having children and the difficulty of defining the very species the children would be.

Well that covers how she could have gotten pregnant, but not when... He could have got her pregnant during ME1, in which case the baby was lost when the Collectors attacked and she 'died'. Or during ME3, in which case the baby was lost when she died.

Regardless, it's not a good idea. Better to just start fresh, imo.

According to my headcanon, Shepard and Miranda find a way to overcome their infertility to conceive one child, a daughter, together.

She has the beauty, intelligence, and wit of her mother, and the spirit, compassion, and drive of her father.

I haven't decided what to call her yet. She does have her mother's Australian accent.
