if mass effect 4  is  a  sequel and not a prequel do you think that  we will see shepard Son/Daughter  in this new mass effect game

How? We did't all chose Liara!

well  how about  Ashley or  Miranda or  Jack or Kelly

How about just some new character? The blood relations aren't really important. Some nods to events in the trilogy could be nice but are already difficult. Just to slab a daughter/son label on them to somehow bridge a gap that doesn't need bridging is really not desirable at all.

Shepard's son would allow for what several players have asked, the possibility of choosing a race. I just think that the lead writers will decide to distance themselves from Shepard. Perhaps not all of them have him/her in such a high regard. Drew Karpyshyn was the writer who developed Commander Shepard, the "canon" traits of the main character (being a member of the military, special forces, soon to become the first human spectre and the command of a ship...). unfortunately, he's no longer working for Bioware.

You can do that with a new character. You'd need a descendant if you want to write a story directly tieing in with Shepard's story. Otherwise it's pointless.

Not possible unless they'll make ME4'S Shepard a canon male who romanced Ashley. And they won't so... no.

How does that work for Female Shepards? I've played as lady Shepard a few times and I don't remember being pregnant at any point.

Besides, what would be the point? Isn't the idea to move on from Commander Shepard and try something more interesting?

Ok I don't know if this has been mentioned because I didn't read every single post but why couldn't same sex have descendant. I mean Traynor even tells femshep she wants a house with white picket fence, dog , and 2 kids. There's always adoption would work for same sex and even interspecies relationships like Tali and maleshep or Garus and femshep, or in the case of femshep and Traynor romance artificial insemination of either femshep or Traynor. Granted it wouldn't really be possible for other endings besides high ems destroy. Granted in the adoption case it wouldn't be a direct genetic descendant of Shepard, but in the artificial insemination it could be if femshep was the egg donor.

I can see femshep and Samantha having children of their own. There are numerous articles where doctors and scientists are working on ways that two women can have a child without the help of a male. Granted the child will always be a daughter. I would not be surprised in 170 years or even before then that two women will be able to have children with help from doctors

Oh, I agree there's no telling what will be able to be done 170 years from now in the real world or honestly even 10 to 20 years down the road. I was just using what is currently possible by our current standards, not whats being researched or tested and not speculating what could be possible in the ME universe since it was created by someone else.

As much as Regina would love to get knocked up by Garrus, no, just no. The last thing the galaxy needs is another right-wing, trigger-happy Shepard. Plus, I didn't see any pregnant belly even though she lived.

Though she promised adopting a Krogan baby for Garrus.... Oh God, Krogan Shepard.

Only possible romance options with children except Asari:

Male Shepard with Ashley/Jack/Kelly
Female Shepard with Kaidan/Vega (I heard that's possible in Citadel, right?)

That's really not many possibilities.

Well, Miranda is all but a clone of her father with a few select traits to round out the Y chromosome to another X, so it seems fairly likely that any woman could have a child of any gender with whomever's genes she could get her hands on.  I would imagine if you can round out a Y chromosome to an X in the MEU, they can do the reverse.  It is apparently super expensive, but Shep will be the hero of the galaxy, so she's owed a few favors.  Not that it matters for my Shep, he and Tali are limited to adoption, but that doesn't bother him one bit.

However, said child should stay the heck away from future ME games.  Shepard's story is done, I don't want Shepard: the Next Generation.

Maybe it'll be the cyber-psychedelic love child between EDI and Joker, thus canonizing synthesis.

I would prefer if they focused on making a good and complete game rather than trying to squeze in questionable content that some of the audience might find troubling.

Shepards story is finnished and that's enough for me.
