Finally found some time to play ME3 with a friend who has an hour of free time before work that I happen to have free as well.

Origin can't go online. Servers temporarily unavailable.

Why does this happen so often? Why can't EA just get things straight?

honestly I don't hate origin, I think it's competition, so that's cool, but I don't like when they make a game exclusive for one service..  (even though steam also does that)

I'll consider it competition when the thing acually works and has half decent features.

Until then it's a plague on any game tied to it, as it's clearly in an unfinished state, which ruins the overall experience of whatver game the devs made that has to run on it.

I mean, I'm sure all the other PC players love to sit for over a minute at the main menu screen because EA can't write code to connect to their servers properlly.

I don't like it full stop when I can't even play single player without some ***** additional program that wants to go online and I can't set it to offline without going online first. Steam is just as bad for that.

Anyway, seems to be up again (the game is starting up anyway).

I can't login either, not even to check if I got the pack for the weekend challenge, which was to drop immediately, but didn't, due to some kind of bug, despite the operation registered as completed in three separate locations..

I wouldn't mind Origin at all if it wasn't so relentlessly terrible. Competition is one thing; forcing people to use a godawful piece of crap is another.  Leaving aside all of the "whoops origin broke so you get to go to the main menu and wait for two minutes" stuff, and the current predicament, there's all kinds of really basic stuff that origin can't do.

the race is still the master, had we been using steam like we had for the two previous games we'd have no problems, its an EA problem not a PC problem

My Origin just crashed, lol.
After restart I still get system errors while loading sites with Origin's browser, but it seems to be back online.
