This is never explained, but ive tought since the hanar are an aquatic race, wouldnt they suffocate on land? Or are they amphibious or have some kind of invisible breathers on?

It's implied, but never specifically explained, that either they're biologically capable of breathing outside water, or have some sort of technological support.
