Ive thinking about the subject a little bit, and I consider a Qunari Uprising is incoming, one way or another, see this:

- Either way, Sten becomes Arishok, pretty much can be consider canon (Those Who Speak)
- Makes more sense qunari seeking revengeance to insults like stealing sacre books, killing elites, etc, making Hawke responsible, therefore, searched and hunted by qunari, then an all-war Mages vs Templar vs Chantry
- A actually religious war, convertions, brain wash, qunari culture, instead of lame Templars vs Mages, which imo i think its overrated.

btw, Inquisition is a group of decentralized institutions (templars, seekers) within the justice, whose aim is to fight against "heretics", which i belive was a common word used by qunari in Dragon Age 2

Could DA3 actually be about a qunari war on Thedas?

ps: not best english, but i belive i made my point..

No, DA2 is not about the Qunari.

Pretty sure they already mentioned the Qunari won't have a major story in DA3 but we will learn more about them...

It'll probably be about the mage-templar conflict, or other plots. I think the Qunari Invasion could be the main plot of the next game.
The Inquisition was an organization formed before the Chantry was instituted to hunt blood mages, abominations, cultists and apostates. When they firmed the Nevarran Accord/Pact with the Chantry, they were split in the Templar Order (which retained the main goal in mage hunting plus mage watching in the Circle) and the Seekers of Truth (with different and more secretive goal, which members acted as supervisors of the Templars), We don't know if the Inquisition in DA3 will resemble the former or will be an entirely new organization. If the PC will be a member, the organization will be certainly different in some way from the former Inquisition, since mages weren't member of it in the past.

IIRC, Sten said you can't change your role. Either that or you become Tal-Vashoth. Something about turtles stronger..gah I don't remember much of the convo. DA2 was mostly revolving around the Mages vs Templars but the Qunari was an issue as well just not as huge M vs T .
We will just have to wait and see for more details on the game's plot :)

Boo.

Well, I guess this depends on how you define "major story".  And whether or not this is actually accurate.

I want a Kossith companion dammit.  My unrequited Sten-crush needs some new material.

I doubt it, but I think DA 4 might be about the Qunari.

Makes sense. When the Mages are freed at the end of DA3 through some McGuffin, the Kossith will not be able to abide the free roaming Sarebaas (sp?) any longer and recommence their expansion of the Qun.

Sten said that you can't change the path in which you are assigned. The Qunari are all assigned to one of the three paths: warriors, merchants and priests. In the warrior parth, there's a ierarchy, in which every qunari in that path could become Arishok. It'd be ridicolous that from the moment you were assigned to the military branch (which I think is fairly early) a qunari could be a Sten, which is equivalent to a lieutenant. It's an officer grade, which is probably granted after years of experience in the military.

Saarebas.  Right number of letters, you just put the extra a in the wrong spot.

Saar means "dangerous", just like in Saar-qamek.

For extra credit, you can remember where the extra A in Arvaarad goes.

I think it'd be more like " the Andrastian places are weakened, let's commence the invasion".
And the mages will be free from what? The Fade?

Argh.

MEN are assigned to be either Soldiers, Ashkaari, or Laborers.  WOMEN are farmers, merchants, artisans, or priests.  The only job that is done by both men and women is ben-hassrath, who are kind of a combination of police and guidance counselor.  Within those broad categories, however, there is substantial variety--priests can raise children or teach adults or a number of other specific jobs we haven't seen yet.  So while you are stuck being a priest if that's where the Tamassaran assigns you, you could be one of several levels of several varieties of priest.  There's job mobility but not role mobility.

I think it is all mixed up...

Just think of it...what could be more suitable time to invade a country other than when the country is in chaos?

It is Sun Tzu..."Loot a Burning House" ---> when a country in chaos such as have internal problem, famine, instability, that is suitable time to attack and take advantage of it

So Mage-Templar conflict creating chaos all over Thedas, an Arishok will take that as advantage to invade

edit : Furthermore, he want to correct the world as according to the Qun

Yeah, I know, I forgot to mention that. I meant with my post that all qunari are assigned to one branch which falls under the control of the Ariqun, Arigena and Arishok (which is restricted in two cases by their gender) and not to a specific rank like a Sten.
edit: and anyway, no need to be angry. My knowledge of the qunari society isn't probably as deep as yours, given your posts in the thread. Regardless the reason, other people don't have to know the qunari society (or other societies in Thedas) at the same level as you do.

Qunari can't afford a full scale war with Thedas atm, they are busy fighting Tevinter.

That's why they'll wait that mages and templars involve the Andrastian nations in their conflict, leading them to be weakened.
