tried both the duel and the battle, but there's an issue: the game freezes when my character is delivering the final blow to loghain. doesn't matter what i do. the damned thing freezes everytime. I've even downloaded the game to my HDD with no success.

Take another save from before the Landsmeet and try again.If it doesn't works , see what it happens when you spare his life. Have you experienced freezes before ? In DAO or any other games ?
