I'm having trouble coming up with a powerful combination for the Volus Adept. Does anyone have any advice of a good setup of powers, possibly with a weapon combo (I have all the weapons)?

I have that class, but I don't really like it. Each power on it's own is not that bad, but in combination the class seems to be more of a sentinel instead of an adept.

I haven't tried it yet, but I like challenges and my tactic will resolve around not helping your teammates, but plain old shooting at enemies until they die - Biotic orbs up to 6, built around max recharge speed increase, shield boost focused on giving myself a boost, fitness focused on surviability, of course, and volus training focused on weapon damage with shield boost bonus. Basically I will keep the orbs up ALL the time and spam shield boost just to keep myself alive and strap a BFG on the little guy.

I find the orbs to be almost useless except as a booster to recharge, so use him as a Statis shooter and shield booster for allies.  I found myself dying a lot less with full Shield Boost plus the Shield Booster gear.  Not sure if I'd take him into Gold unless I was with friends, since you're reliant on others especially for boss kills.

Collector swarms and Dragoons will pose the biggest problems to him, and boss killing will not be his specialty either.  You can try to bubble up for swarms, not sure if that works well vs. Dragoons.
