Perhaps the god baby is suppose to substitute for Morrigan, aka meaning that her body will not be taken has host, but the baby's. Now I wonder if Morrigan even offer the ritual at the landsmeet since I have killed her mother on her request.Rhinna wrote...
I just found out last night, that it was Flemeth's idea for the ritual - SHE gave Morrigan the information she needs to perform it - when my female elf mage PC had the conversation with her in Redcliff, I somehow wormed that out of her "But this was Flemeth's idea all along you know...that is why she sent me" or something to that effect. And here all along I thought Morrigan had her own agenda! I'll have to see if I can find the conversation in the logs.
Would such bad if not, because I was planning on getting my human noble to marry Alistair, kind of requires that we are both alive.... o.o

Am I the only one who saw the thread title and thought "Let's do the Time Warp again?"

Maria: "In the butt!"

Maria: "Oh, wait. That wouldn't work so good."

It makes no difference whether you kill Flemeth or not - or if your character is male or female - you will always get the offer.
Flemeth was alive back at her hut, right after Ostagar. And that's why Flemeth sent Morrigan along - and Morrigan knew it all along (she reveals that).
Edit: If your character is female, then Alistair gets to make the god baby.

Or Loghain . . .though he's thinking of his dead wife during the deed.

I belive that Flemeth and Morrigan har in cahoots the hole time...
As a male when you ask her "Is this why you have bean so friendly to me" Morrigan anwer "Its ...why I was send with you by my mother. Its why she saved your life to begin with. Caring for you... was not part of the plan."
The plan! Can it be more crystal clear?

I'm wondering if you can get Alistair to sleep with Morrigan and then kill the Archdemon yourself thus sacrificing yourself and leaving a bastard heir to the throne. It is a totally insane thing to do!! Anyone do it?
Nope, undoable, since the ritual makes sure that WHOEVER kills the Archdemonthe soul seeks the baby out like a beacon... So no, no matter who do tha killing blow the soul goes to Godbaby...
And even if it wouldn't, You think Morrie would let Ali have the babe?
If Alistair takes the throne, and You do the ritual there IS a legitimite heir to the throne out running with Morrie, Ali's bastard son/daughter... ^^ *most likely a daughter but who knows? I dare think not even Gaider knows yet, he hasn't gotten that far =p*

where does it say as a grey warden you can't make babies? before the joining ritual I don't remember Duncan telling me "drink this and your boys won't swim no more"
It isn't that GW's can't have babies, but rather, a babe born from grey wardens could potentially recieve the taint from the GW parent.
And if BOTH parents are GW's, that chance is exceptionally high, or so says Alistair when he breaks it off with the female hero. Well, something like that.

Yeah but that doesn't explain all the "Fertility" issues everyone keeps talking about

Oh and Morrigan mentions that some people would consider the dark ritual to be blood magic but then she says that's only a name right?

Anyone else notice that the protagonist (if you chose to accept Morrigan's offer) becomes the archetypal "legend with the world on his shoulders"? Killing the Archdemon propelled him to legend status, and for the rest of his life he knew that the woman he had romanced, a witch of the wilds, was somewhere in the world with their child, an Old God. Damn, that is epic.

I'm pretty sure this is right. My mage had the Blood Mage specialization and she said something like "but this shouldn't be too strange to you" or something like that...

Actually they say that because of the taint that the Grey Wardens have difficulty conceiving children. And that it would be almost impossible for two Grey Wardens to have a baby together.

Dont' quote me, but I'm pretty sure they referred to the baby surviving because of the taint, not actually getting pregnant.

No, it's conception.
A baby born of grey wardens isn't tained, or hasn't been in the evidence that we've been shown. But the real problem is getting the two to conceive - unless someone wanted to try the broodmother way
