Reasons:

1. It's a Gold (Rare) weapon
2. It's a Justicar weapon with a secret technology that was guarded for CENTURIES and only given away because of the Reaper threat
3. THE ONLY non-promotional weapon that hasn't been touched since LAUNCH, while enemies received multiple buffs to shields, health and armor.
4. The only real advantage was it's weight, but now with ULM for pistols and SMG's working it's no longer a advantage.
5. The damage sucks, the stagger is unreliable.

+1?

agreed.

As much as it's beautiful, the weapon is sadly useless

At least it tickles the enemy. Gives them a false sense of security before I pull out a real gun.

It's not a stagger. It's more like a stun. But many other weapons can do that. And the Disciple does nothing to a Phantom.

the perfect way to balance it is to let it stagger protected enemies, it doesn't need damage or anything, just give it that

also with the new omni blade it theoretically benefits the sword users and paladin and other power/melee classes I'd say

Agreed. It can only kill mooks on silver and that's all.

As of now, which class can use the Disciple and have it be the most damaging and powerful? A Krogan?

I brought it to Platinum to get my shotgun mastery done faster. Oh god, never again. Emptying clips after clips on a Phantom, barely scratching its health, gets tiring quickly. And that was with aiming for the head.

Buff it BioWare.

Really? I see enemies stagger all the time, usually just the first hit they're struck by though, which is kind of odd.

That said, I still like that shotgun, but it could well do with a buff, making that stagger reliable, say a full hit always staggers, and give it more force so that unshielded enemies cryo'd, stasi'ed or pulled and in a singularity (and so on) is a sure kill...it would be a nice mook killer that could keep enemy crowds back...a riot gun. :)

If he straps an omni-bayonet to it, yes. :P Shadow does well with it too, due to it being light and that bayonet giving such a boost to melee damage. Still, shooting with it should be more effective.

You're using it wrong. Porper way of using Disciple is placing it where you want your enemies, and when they run to it yelling "WOW LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL GUN", you shoot them in the face with a Talon.

It's not really a stagger. A real stagger is what GPS does. Disciple just stuns, but many weapons can stun, and many weapons can kill better.

A proper way is to attach the Disciple to a rope, then drag it across the floor while all the enemies are chasing it, to  lure them into a recon mine trap set by Volus.

Well, ULM for pistols and SMGs don't really have an impact on the use of a shotgun. Apart from that: +1

Also (slightly OT), love your new avatar. Her expression - plain awesome.

What do you mean ULM has no impact?  Even Talon 1 with ULM will give you 200% CD.

P.S. What Liara does in that scene is also plain awesome. :P

I meant that, apart from the Talon of course, a Pistol or SMG becoming lighter because of the now working ULMs shouldn't be a reason to not use a shotgun.

P.S.: Just had a look...I'll be in my bunk.

Well yes, working ULM's do not invalide Claymore, Piranha, Wraith and so on. But they do invalidate the Disciple since all it has going it for it's light weight. And most of the pistols will do a better job even up close than the Disciple.

If it guaranteed stagger like the falcon, I'd take it anyday. Right now the Piranha outclasses it in every way imaginable.
