Maybe a bit more damage and a higher pellet count?

A buff would be ok, but it really needs to stay lightweight.
That is what distinguishes it amongst the shotguns.

It's perfect for a heavy melee gold soloing krogan vanguard.
You can use the +50% weight omni blade, and still have
200% cooldowns. Add fire ammo, and the low damage
makes it perfect for priming and setting up charge
detonated fire explosions.

A talon also works for that as long as you're gold or
higher, but does not provide an equivalent to the
omni blade. Plus the talons extra damage, means lots
of things end up dead instead of primed to explode.

So... If everyone wants a buff, maybe just improve
its stun or stagger chance. The lower damage does
have a benefit when you want to play around with
detonations on vanguards or other classes.

Yeah definitely agreed. Damage is pitiful at the moment.

It's only useful for slapping on an omni-blade attachment for a power based melee class like the kroguard or shadow.

Looks great, plays awful.

I agree it needs a buff.  I still like using it sometimes as it can be fun to use and accurate at long range(for shotgun) but I will not take it into anything above silver.

Yup, useless weapon. Casters have far better options. Maybe some innate bonus vs. armor to make it more distinct from the other caster weapons?

I would be content if it at least staggers like the description says. Like the Gps, but lighter.

I brought it to Platinum to get my shotgun mastery done faster. Oh god, never again. Emptying clips after clips on a Phantom, barely scratching its health, gets tiring quickly. And that was with aiming for the head.

Buff it BioWare.

The Headshot master has spoken...
Buff it silly, Bioware.

Make it recharge your shields like it said in the leaked pre-release documents

Single clip DPS for the Disciple: 463-578.
Multi-clip DPS for the Disciple: 270-338.

Single clip DPS for the Talon: 702-878.
Multi-clip DPS for the Talon: 478-597.

Both shoot 4 bullets. Compare the Disciple to the Piranha, also a Rare shotgun--over a thousand DPS at level 1, and at level 10, only .40 heavier.

Now, granted, the Talon is a fairly lightweight UR. Of course it should be better than the Disciple. However, it and its peer the Piranha are so far apart that it's almost sad.

I think you could raise the DPS of the Disciple by 100 and that wouldn't be too much. It would still do much less damage than its peer the Piranha and less than the Talon, but people might use it instead of leaving it on the shelf.

For crying out loud, the Uncommon Phalanx does 478-597 Single DPS, and 314-393 Multi and it is way lighter! The Disciple needed a buff in the very beginning, but it really really really needs it now if it's ever coming off of the shelf. Who would ever take it over the Piranha? Why? You don't even have ULM to compensate for using it as a sidearm, and its description is, as tonnactus pointed out, utter bs. The Falcon and Scorpion are for staggering, not the Disciple. It is a sad, sad, useless UR.

Please give it some love, Bioware. I'd like to take it off the shelf.

Yeah it feels really weak. My Krodept just use it as a sword.

Pretty much this...since its the only shotgun that stays at 200% recharge with the new shotgun omniblade mod

I'm playing with the disciple in order to complete the Shotgun challenge. Man, this weapons sucks badly. It is much, much worse than the Eviscerator.

I simply don't say it is the worst shotie ever, because of Katana. But the latter is a common, while the Disciple is rare.

... becasue of everything in the first post. It's kind of a useless weapon for most of the characters I play with, and I would pick a pistol or a SMG any day if given the choice.

I used it for the first time to do one of the shotgun challenges. Chipping away at a gold Brute for about five minutes reminded me of the old days when I had no decent weapons and any one-on-one boss encounter could take several minutes to finish. I had to stop after completing the wave 3 objective. I could see that trying to kill a gold banshee with this weapon would be very time consuming and perhaps impossible. Yes, this gun could use some significant improvements.

I agree that it needs a buff, it's completely eclipsed by other shotguns right now and reduced to a mount for the new omni-blade. But at the same time it's not nearly as useless as people make it out to be. I put it on my level ~12 Marksman-less TSoldier (figured I'd work on 3 requisites for Council Operative at the same time since I normally don't use either the TSoldier or the Disciple) and I had no problem topping the scores in the few gold pugs it took me to get the 200k points with it. Sure all the CS and PM triggered tech bursts or fire explosions helped with that, but I was also getting a good chunk of the points from the Disciple alone.
Again, I agree that it needs a buff, but it's still far from useless right now and is certainly gold-worthy as is.

I only use it on my GI. But this is how I play my GI:

Wallhaxxxx! to find huge group of enemies.
Cloak and CHARGE
Proxy mine
MELEE MELEE MELEE MELEE MELEE
Get killstreak
Fall over dead from a stray shot

Notice what was missing in there - firing my gun.

Everyone else gets a gun that actually does something.

I remember it being okay for the first month on like, vanguard/adept classes but I agree, utterly useless now. I like the 'idea' behind the gun too, a shame really. It should be the go to shotgun for any CC class.

I've been trying to use it on a Krogan Vanguard...on silver...even with weapon synergy...couldn't kill a Husk in one shot...

I think this alone warrants some form of buff.

I was actually SHOCKED when I pulled the trigger and the husk didn't fall over dead...I killed the Canibal with charge, then aimed at the husk...fired...and had to fire AGAIN, at point blank range!
EDIT: AND I was using the Shotgun Amp V gear...

I've always liked the Disciple. But I'd only ever be able to justify using it to myself due to its light weight. I used it on a Gold solo run when the Slayer was first released, and at the time I skipped Phase Disruptor. You can only imagine how painful it was having to take out geth primes with nothing but Biotic Slash and the Disciple. Longest Gold solo run of my life.

I don't even think increasing its damage requires a weight increase. It's a rare weapon and aside from its weight, the Piranha is superior in every single way. The Disciple deserves a "free of charge" buff, easily.

It's kinda shame that even with the new t-sol (Which has a max 37% or so weapon damage bonus) that this gun is still kinda mediocre. It'd be cool if it was far more reliable on staggering enemies, but it seems to be a luck of the draw.

I swear it'd be easier for me to just run 20 matches with a few classes instead of doing the shotgun for the Commando Mastery, but I've gotten it at 67%..in that time, I've almost finished p the T-Sol and the Asari Justicar.

It's a really cool shotgun, and I kinda dig it..but it's just not incredibly damaging.

Just hit 140,000 with it for the commando challenge and it is not fun nor fast. 6 silver games to get it this far on a Turian Havoc.

I suggest 100% stagger chance per shot. Keep the same accuracy, weight, and crap damage. Consistent staggering sounds awesome so we can stunlock enemies, even if the attack isn't that good, powers will make up for it, since it IS a caster shotgun.

It should have a huge amount of force, enough to knock phantoms to the ground, but have the same damage.

Agreed. Used on Valkirye for low cooldown warp, kinda worked but could have gone Talon anyday.
