I'd take a reliable stagger and no damage buff... but if they can't do that, it needs a damage buff. Ditto the above poster, that the Scimitar and Katana should get a buff. Even if the buff is better accuracy, or something to that effect, if there's a good reason for not buffing the damage.

That said, if anyone is doing a Disciple related challenge.... put it on a Turian Soldier. It was taking forever to make progress with the Disciple until I put it on the Turian Soldier. Of course, now that the challenge is done, he's carrying a Sabre again.

It's odd to me that BW doesn't try to implement class synergy in gun design more. Say, give a certain gun + 1 to 10% power efficiency or amplitude (or tech bonus, or whatever). That way, specific guns would be more useful to certain classes, and we'd have more choices and playstyles (which = more fun = happier fan base).

But yeah, the Disciple is shiny and pretty, but needs a buff.

The Disciple is easily the worst uncommon/rare shotgun, even accounting for its extreme low weight. A simple fix would be making it's description accurate - if any pellets connect, the enemy should outright stagger (not temporarily stun). Turn it into a shotgun version of a scorpion.

Nearly all shotguns needs a buff in this game. Some are just to damn short ranged, it feels like i have to touch the enemy with it if i even want to do some damage. I do more damage with a choke mod than a barrel mod.

Exactly. A rare and ultra secret Justicar weapon is on par with an ordinary shotgun used by farmers for varren hunting. 

Buff it silly!

The damage is ridiculous but I could live with that given its very light weight.
But the clip size and RoF... double the clip size and increase the RoF to 125 or something, please.

Weight doesn't matter anymore. ULM pistols, ULM SMG's, other very light (but much more powerful) shotguns render the Disciple irrelevant. 

Needs a multiplier vs barriers/shields and better stagger.

I used to actually like this gun a long time ago, but since then with better weapons being released and following that enemies being buffed, it has become an absolute joke. The RoF is an absolute joke, damage is even more hilarious. This gun should have been more like the Acolyte. Light gun with the power to strip shields and barriers with ease. Nope, instead...we have this PoS.

Talon is ultra-rare, but in any case - Disciple's damage is pitiful and it doesn't actually do the stagger thing better than other weapons.

I had to use it for the Commando challenge. Once upon a time I remember likig it on vanguards. Started using the Asari Vangard. Yuk yuk yuk. She swapped to the Acolyte and it was awesome. Still had to find someone to use the Disciple on. I mixed it up on the Saly Infiltrator and Turian Soldier. It was fine on both of them on Silver but I don't think I would take it to gold.

I actually liked it on the TS though. Proxy mine, unload 4 shots, cooldown over so marksman for instant reload and increased rate of fire. The next 4 shots just pound into the target. I can't remember if this was enough to kill a Brute on Silver or if I needed an extra clip. But like I say that is silver. On gold? Probably not worth it. I did find it pretty accurate as range though.

I would say that I really wanted a 5th shot when using it, and that with both charaters I was using it with it benefitted from Proxy Mine. I also wanted better spread on it. At close range (this is the Vanguard now) It was easy to miss. Given that you might need 3 shots to take out a Centurion even after a charge, missing is a bad option. The stagger is good, but I found enemies would only stagger once from it an that Hunters shrugged it off pretty fast. If you hit a Hunter with the last shot in the barrell then they would be unloading on you while you were still reloading.

So my thoughts for a buff would be;
~5 shots in chamber
~Faster reload (though with 5 shots it may be less important
~Wider spread in hipfire

In many ways I would like the Disciple to be an Acolyte versus armour. Useless against shields and Barrier but great against armour. However given that all bosses in the game have armour this would make it too good, but conceptually I think it really works.

Now compare that to ANY other Rare Shotgun...you will cry...and cry...and cry...

Piranha, Lightweight, HUGE damage, and fast RoF - Rare
Katana, Midweight, Mild damage, decent RoF - COMMON
Disciple, Lightweight, TINY damage, and quick RoF - Rare

BIG PROBLEM!!!

Moar bump... the gun is too pretty to be so bad!

I think that the modifier against shields and barriers suggestion is the best one, sadly I don't think that can be applied in weekly changes.
