I notice the change in enemies' behavior when I did some solos. They did camp the 4hack objective. One or two troopers or midtier usually camp there while the rest of the party chase me around the map. A good reminder that the game is meant to be co-op.
Never seen any of them camp the LZ though.
Old strategy of not staying at extraction not viable anymore?

Truth to be told, i've ALWAYS noticed this behaviour on enemies, though i've always been a bronze, sometimes silver, player.
It's normally a Nemesis that is just RIGHT OFF TO THE SIDE hiding waiting to snipe you. Or that Phantom cartwheeling freely around the objective/extraction zone (usually cloaked and restoring her shields)

This is true, when doing Reapers, You'll find Marauders to be when you least expect them. But that always used to be the case with Marauders. Sneaky basterds...

The extraction zone should be a zone in which there are no enemy camped in at the start of the extraction round. If a team decides to set up a decoy action and establish a fire fight somewhere away from the extraction zone, it is improbable that the bad guys should camp at the actual extraction zone.
However, the bad guys are pretty smart, too, right? So, if they know a team is looking for an extraction, they could analyze the location of the team, their mode of transportation to the extraction zone (foot), and identify likely extraction zones. Then, if they have the personnel resources, they could deploy those resources to the most likely extraction zones. That makes logical sense, right?
If the bad guys can do that, I'd like to see the good guys also have some gunship support that can be called in to help suppress or eliminate the bad guys at an actual extraction zone. If I were the leader of a team seeking extraction, I'd try to lead the bad guys away from the actual extraction zone. If this means I engage them in a fire fight, so be it. Then, at some point prior to moving to the extraction zone, I call in a strafing run of some sort to clear out the extraction zone. I'd get my team moving in the direction of the actual extraction zone after making this call, ensuring that we are not in the actual hot zone unitl the strafing is done.
After the zone is fired upon, my team would rush in, mop up, and hold off any advancing enemy while we await extraction.

Works for me. I just selfishly camp quietly as much as possible and make a dash for the LZ in the last 20s.

them camping objectives makes sense once they realise what your objective is
them spawning on the objective regardless of your position on the map and instantly camping it is cheap
the camping behavior really ruins it for solo runs
but not only solo runs, carrying bad teams, which is common, got exponentially harder at times, try to clutch an escort, it's impossible now
pizza delivery is now the best objective you can ever hope for

I noticed the same, but 'tis still the best strategy. Holding the LZ is flatout impossible, at least on Gold+.
On some maps it is more than possible to camp the lz and get full extraction. However with maps like Reactor it is just crazy to park in the circle and wait for the shuttle. It still can get nasty even if you start on the other side of the map.

Here is a video of a solo I did today, you can clearly see on wave 10 objective that Phantoms are now camping the hack circle, and you can see that you can't lead them off during extraction but instead they choose to camp there.
This new behavior takes some time to get used to I'd say.

Yeah. How have people still not realised this. I get lone survivors or partial extractions as people still try to hold the LZ even after I'm telling them to join me at the other end of the map. Some are absolutely atrocious in particular like Giant or Ghost.
Ghost is horrible yes, but I almost always go to hold the LZ on Giant, it being the only exception to this; with only 2 real choke points and good cover for everyone, it's definitely doable (and arguably fun) to do if everyone stays in formation.

heh, works for me. 80% of my extractions I end up as lone survivor. All the other teammates that camp extraction get killed.

Those phantoms you're fighting must be new. I see that all the time in pugs.

Didn't notice this atleast at the Gold matches I was playing today.
