Turns out the people that will be playing Blops2 are the people currently playing Blops and MWF, sure every game will take a hit, but people quickly go back to other games come Christmas.
Heck MW3 hasn't even been out for a year and I barely see people playing that on my friends list anymore.

In all seriousness the community will be better of without the Call of Duty kids. Also even if COD should take away some players on release they will be back when they finish the lengthy 8 hour SP campaign and get fed up with multiplayer which will be boring and full of 13 year olds making hackusations everytime you kill them.
Honestly I cannot see how anybody can pay 60 bucks for such a short scripted and boring game and how review sites and mags can give it more than 7 out of 10.
Dunno what HALO is so I won't comment on that.

I'm guessing there won't be any smart people in the world then... absolutely no chance it'd be that price with all DLC within 4/5 months of release, especially considering they have confirmed 5 DLC packs. That's just not logical.Clearly Balkan wrote...
What's so special about those dates?
If you are alluding to AC3, smart people will buy AC3 in February for 30$ with all DLCs.

And circa Diablo 3. And like every other doomsday prophecy, from Heaven's Gate to the millennium bug... it's all basically hollow nonsense.Deucetipher wrote...
I dunno. People said that circa Borderlands 2
There are thousands upon thousands of games people could be playing over Mass Effect 3. A new one, when it comes out, might take priority for a little while for quite a few gamers, but the Mass Effect 3 discs will still be sat there, right next to their consoles. If they've stuck with it for this long, and play the game regularly eight months into its life, they're not going to forget it ever existed. Nobody only plays one game, and if a player's been dedicated for this long, they're almost certainly going to want to play it again at some point.
Glad there's more, "yeah, right!" this time around, though. The abject terror surrounding Borderlands 2 was histrionic and thoroughly insufferable. I did wonder if a lot of the people were just willing the game to fail, cos it would've proven that all of their personal grievances with ME3MP were right, and that the developers should've listened to them all along.

Okay, lets break this down.
- Halo is a XBOX exclusive, so PS3 and PC remains untouched.
- Even with Black Ops 2 attempt of making it better, it still a recycled game. I don't think Bioware fans, Mass Effect players will care about such game. In other words, if you aren't a COD fan, who played Black Ops and MW3, you don't care about Black Ops 2.

Well, i won't stop playing MP for a long, long time, I think they will shut down the servers to this game and I will continue playing, that or until we get the other Mass effect.
I still play Star Wars: Republic Commando....

And the premise of the Op is wrong anyway. Yeah I'll play this game less once Halo comes out, but I'll still come back, cause this game is awesome.

Nevermind that, they're still ranging in feet, do not use the metric system and don't get me started on their weird temperature scale.
But we digress.

I will not be buying COD or Halo.. I hate Halo with every fabric of my being.. And I haven't bought a COD game in three years. I tried borrowing a friends MW3 a few weeks ago.. I played the SP and hated the MP. I will not be buying Black Ops 2 either. I'm done with COD. It's just not fun anymore. At least ME3 is still fun.
So at least I will be online playing ME3.
If I did get halo, it would only be for the SP. Prob would take me two days max to finish and that would still be with playing me3 when my friends get online.
As for CoD, I can't even begin to explain how done I am with that player base. Those cheating/glitching pricks are the reason I'm done with PvP in general. Thanks to them spreading out and playing other things, the whole PvP experaince on console is riddled with "lagg switch" users. Which makes the game unplayable by legit players.
So no, I'm still going to be playing, I won't be buying either.
I'll be playing untill they close the servers.

ME3 MP already died like 5 times according to what people say.
Pretty much every game I've ever played has died at least a dozen times each according to the chicken little's on the forums.
Sorry OP but no single game is going to be so universally amazing and epic that it will instantly drain this game of it's players.
On that note, I have heard positive impressions about the new COD, but then when was the lat time the COD fanbase wasn't squelling over their annual installment? Halo 4 holds no interest for me, and I used to be a MASSIVE Halo fan, imo they should've let Master Chief die with dignity in 3. Not enough companies are willing to actually END a story these days (one of the reasons I actually really enjoy the ending of ME3). /endrant
