Strategy
FIRE EXPLOSIONS!! The recent patch has removed the need to kill opponents in order to ignite fire explosions. This means that fire explosions now only requires you to ignite a primed target. Biotic Charge and/or Nova will be your ONLY igniters. Inferno grenades, explosive ammo and squad mate powers will work as your primers.
This build is more versatile than the traditional biotic explosion vanguard because you have access to more primers(inferno grenade, incendiary ammo, squad mate powers).

Yes, I said Rank 4 Area. Lob one of Ashely's inferno grenades at the group of enemies and then charge: explosions all over!!
Nova

Standard stuff.
Zero points in shockwave and pull.
Bonus power: Inferno grenades

-Radius and Shrapnel
Inferno grenade: you are no longer useless. When it comes to priming a group of enemies, no bonus power does it better than the inferno grenade.
Squad mates: EDI, James, Ashley
EDI's incinerate, James carnage and Ash's inferno grenade will work as your primers. No need for overload. Fire is all you need
Weapons:
Automatic weapons seems to be better at priming that single shooters. Precision weapons like the Geth SMG, GPR and the Avenger are even better but that's a personal preference.
Shotguns are effective primers but lack the attack range of the SMGs/ARs/pistols. Weapon damage isn't important since your main objective is to ignite fire explosions.
Pistols work the same as shotguns but have more range. Pistols are less forgiving than automatic weapons so you'd be better off with an SMG/AR. Again, weapons will only be used for priming in this build.
In the end, the differences are slight so use whatever you feel most comfortable with.
