also,'crashed on eden' just for metaphor purposes or a clue that they're on eden prime?

. Probably not, BioWare really wanted their damn Adam and Eve reference.  It didnt work that way for me:devil:

especially if you intentionally name your shep adam and romance Steve Image IPB

Doesn't the Destroy "Breath Scene" require the highest EMS?

indeed, but since it adds nothing to the actual ending (safe for more speculation fer everybody) synthesis is the hardest ending in general to unlock. i consider destroy the 'best' (least worst?)

It's adds the possiblity of Shepard living which is something missing from the other endings, including lower EMS destroy.

If Synthesis was the favored ending by BioWare, why not have a Synthesized Shepard emerge from the wreckage with a high enough EMS?  Synthesis, as it is presented in the game, is the worst realized and most non-sensical of ending options with Control a tight second.

Does a Biblical reference, a metaphor of rebirth and everything starting over, really assert that it's the preferred ending? Or is it just the logical image after you've taken it upon yourself to play God and change everything?

well apparently there was no meataphor of rebirth or adam and eve reference. we just 'interpreted' it wrong. and the opinion that synthesis is the 'preferred' ending comes from the catalyst and edi for me.

This is concept art from BioWare. It's called Crashed on Eden.

Here's the description:

"Some characters get to have their moment."

Yeah, Joker and EDI don't get this moment without Synthesis.

... Can it be any more obvious? Synthesis is their preferred ending.

Not true, they get this moment if you choose control with low EMS also. She doesn't die in that one either.

They don't hold hands in that ending. And it looks like EDI is smiling in that image. She only smiles in Synthesis.

Well, I care because I'm trying to settle on a canon ending. If BioWare intended for Synthesis to be the "best", I want to understand why. There are some serious problems with Synthesis, and despite my recent arguments supporting it, I still can't make myself feel comfortable choosing it.

I don't see how a nice piece of concept art invalidates everyone elses opinion on their favorite ending. It's just Bioware's opinion, it's not a big deal. Them liking it also doesn't make it the best, it just means they like it.

If it's the writers' favorite ending, then it's likely that they were trying to make some kind of point with it. At this time, I'm not sure exactly what message they were trying to convey with Synthesis. Also, it's kind of weird to have the fanbase reject the "best" ending, if that's what Synthesis really is.

They're allowed to have their preferred ending.

Still EDI's body and Synthesis both sicken me.

Imagine someone writing this statement if she was ugly. Realise that either way, you're hating her for how she looks.

Eh, Bioware can have their treasured space-magic filled nonsense ending...I am perfectly content with blowing the Reapers to hell and then retiring to Rannoch with Tali.

but synthesis is inevitable. and so's technological singularity. wait. Image IPB

. If it truly is inevitable the Catalyst would not have continued the cycles, he did.  Conclusion, synthesis is not inevitable

according to the leviathan the catalyst's 'purpose is not being fulfilled,' but when pressed on their accountability, the catalyst 'still serves it's purpose'. the contradiction apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

good writing theory... nope

Pardon me miss, but you do appear to have sexual characteristics. As a man, and one who is very familiar with the internet at that, please allow me to explain why your sexual characteristics are an insult to your gender, which I'm sure you identify with very strongly. Hopefully we can cover you up soon enough so that people only react to your intelligence, you know, so that things are "fair." Remember: men know what's best for your body.

This is what I see every time I see an "OMIGOD EDI HAS BEWBS. MYSOGYNEEEEEEE!" post.

I should state that I don't want ME3 to have an obvious best ending. I'd rather have balanced choices. But there have been several hints, both in-game and out, that some people at BioWare really like Synthesis. This isn't really a big deal in and of itself. However, because a very large portion of the fanbase actually hates Synthesis, I think this puts everyone in an awkward place.

So I'm both intrigued and frustrated by the whole situation.

Hahaha. LOL!

My issue is with the requirement of an artificial intelligence housed in the frame of a spaceship being relegated to sexbot treatment. It has no gender, it has no sexual desires or impulses - but we have stuck it in a sexbot body for no apparent reason.

I take no issue with Miranda (although some of her camera angles bother me), no issue with Jack, no issue with Samara, no issue with Liara.

The EDI body I take issue with in a gameplay / game story development sense.

So what I see when people like yourselves get defenisive about this is..
