Corrrect, although variations exist, this is what it is at it's core.

the originals the best... we're coming out with wierder and wierder variations, like that butter chicken poutine :yuk:

Drats. I was hoping to play this tonight, but of course I work an 8hr. tomorrow, 12-8.

Oh well. Hopefully my east coast friends will still be around when I get home.

Blasphemy.

Usually it's motz, sometimes feta (in the Greek variant).

You clearly have never seen British gourmet. (Something of an oxymoron, of course, but still.)

I would personally prefer it if they were even more enigmatic with their responses and just simply gave out their information as riddles:

"The balance changes will come upon us... when two Greek sisters, each, gives birth to the other..."

HA!

like watching Kitchen Nightmare (the original one which was actually about the people, food, and the business..not the craptastic sappy American one which was ALL ABOUT THE DRAMA )

Curds of mozzarella, yes? At least that's the way I understood it, but I've only had it at a friend's house the one time ("steak" fries, beef gravy and curds of mozzarella... so delicious). I quite enjoy Greek takes on things so the Greek version sounds wonderfully plausible, if not perfectly germane to "poutine-ness".

I'm British (English actually) and "Poutine" would not look out of place on my dinner table! Perhaps it is the gravy...;)

Don't be fooled by appearances...great tasting, nourishing food does not always delight the eyes--it delights the taste-buds and tummy instead;).

Poutine's like greasy heroin. You'll get cravings, nay, you'll itch for it after you've had a few servings.
