I'm not sure how the new engine will handle this, but I always thought that Dragon's Dogma had the best character creation. So many choices for weight classes, skin tones, and facial features -- including scars. ;P

If Bioware could implement something similar, I think that would make a lot of people happy.

I agree with you.  I really liked the cc in Dragons Dogma.  I loved being able to adjust the height, weight, muscle tone, stance and scars of my Arisen.  It would be fantastic to be able to do something similar in DA3.

Though I do think DA's cc is better for faces so if the two were mixed it would be perfect.

Would be nice but what you're both asking for is basically a MMO CC. I highly doubt it will happen. Mostly from technical hurdles. It works in Dragon's Dogma because it's not a cinematic heavy game.

One thing I truly adored in DD's CC is how combat changes based on how your character is built. If you're a lumbering giant, you hit like a truck but your stamina decreases fast. If you're short and skinny, you can dash long distances with great stamina. I really loved those mechanics...

DD is a great game. More people should play it.

Hahaha, true. Though, I imagine they would have limitations, being that it wouldn't be the same exact program. :)

it won't be an issue

The problem I had with dragon's Dogma's CC is that you couldn't fine tune the various face shape options. (Jawline, cheekbones, etc)

I really liked the CC in Dragon's Dogma. So many cool options. Also going to the rift, and see what other players had come up with was cool. There was so many different kind of characters that could be made from that CC.

Height - I'd love to see height play more of a factor in these games.

Weight too - I just don't feel that putting in "fat" is going to be chosen by anyone but dwarves.

I would love, love, love if we could use this kind of CC to build our own love interest too, with preset personalities (carefully selected by players when creating them), lives and goals. It would make our romances experiences more valuable in some way.

And since there are no dwarf PCs... :(

It's true, the CC in Dragon's Dogma was brilliant - but that you could see the difference in motion is even more impressive.

Dragon's Dogma is on my xmas list :) Mostly for the CC LOL So yes I would love to see that sort of thing implemented in DA3's CC.

If I wanted anything taken from DD into DA3, it would be boss battles lol, climbing up on dragons to attack them :3 or mixing up tactics, hiting weak spots etc lol

How would that even fit in tactical squad-based combat?

Sometimes I wonder if people realise their suggestion is "make a different game".

------

The ability to change body type looks nice, but other than that, the character creator doesn't look better than that of Dragon Age and Mass Effect. A little different, but not better.

Dragon's Dogma character creator is boss. Hands down one of the best I've ever come across.

Too bad everything after it sucks.

Save that Dragon's Dogma does contain cut-scenes where everything has been scripted to work for all character builds regardless of size. Capcom even wrote a blog on getting all of this to work.

Oh and here's a character thread wish-list:

Although the story was a mess.

Height and weight weren't just cosmetic, right? Didn't they affect stamina regeneration?

Yea and I suspect it will largely depend on what they can do in the new engine.

I'll have to redownload the demo. From what I can remember I was generally unimpressed with it. I prefer to have sliders and the such and be able to really customize the face. basically if I can't create a face like my avatar i deem it not that great.

They should also look to the armour system. The layered armour approach was fantastic in Dragon's Dogma.

Yeah, I was somewhat underwhelmed when I noticed the lack of sliders.  It's still fun to mess around with the demo's CC every once in awhile.

That final confrontation with the dragon was fantastic.
