I'm not synthesis fan. Not even an ending fan. Just telling this in order to "fix" the endings if bioware finally decides to keep them as they are.

As always, I suggest in first place to plug-in sheppard "uploading" him/her to the Catalyst computer, so the elevator scene is "VR". Not the point here.

But, I can comprehend that many people hate it because sheppard dies. Is the only one that makes that, discounting refusal or low ems. Only counting you rock and have all EMS on game.

Ok, stated that ones. Why the hell sheppard must be killed?

On the "similar" ending on Deus Ex, JC Denton mixes with the IA known as Helios in order to become somethin greater. Was not only fine, but amazing.

I think one of the main reasons for why people HATE systhesis is for the nonsense of being killed. You can:

-Became a Machine-God
-Became a Hero killing reapers.
-Die and rape galaxy.

Hello? Who will choose the third one?

The fix is simple. Add a third chamber, where sheppard enters if enough EMS:

Sheppard enters, he gots plugged and Synthesis uses him as framework, without killing him. For the synthesis to take effect, s/he must remain there for several years, and the process slowly starts to work.

Meanwhile, this:

Image IPB

You remain cloystered while it takes place, but at last, you return to the galaxy, as reward for being the framework.

I repeat, not ending fan, but like to present alternatives for DLC. ;)

Personally I like how Shepard dies in practically every ending. Gives him/her more of a heroic death. I think Synthesis is fine as it is.

The game is about choices... and death gives you no choice.

My opinion, anyway

Shepard dies right at the end of the game, right after the final choice. There aren't any more choices to make.

You choose what your death will stand for and how it'll affect the entire galaxy. This choice is the biggest of the entire trilogy.

That is the problem, that the final choice is not a choice. And to be said...

Who will remember you as a hero? No one knows what happened after the beam. They could think it was you who opened the citadel, but it could be anderson as well. Or the illusive man.

Who, without metagame, will know?

In Control, Reaper Shep will tell everyone. In destroy, you survive.

Who will know in synthesis? SID made metagame all time telling "was shep"

They know Shepard made it to the beam. Hackett contacted him, telling him to try and activate the Cruicible right after Anderson died. Both Anderson and Shepard are remembered as a hero. (Both of their names are on Normandy's memorial wall) It doesn't matter to them exactly which of them activated it. They probably just assume they did it together.

For me would be fine. For Bioware :wizard:

It could work if YOU (and not the galaxy) became the catalyst, the only immortal sentient capable of understand and make peace between organics and sinthetics using space magic framework. The reapers leave.

Everyone happy.
