:(  I have lvl 17 Elf Mage. Have done pretty much all the quests except killing that (expletive) dragon up in the mountains and have run all over the place to see what I've missed...I am stuck in Orzimmar unable to go further on Entering Jarvis's Hideout. Killed a bunch of the thugs before I won the Proving and now that I have the quest from Lord Harrowmont to Enter Jarvis's Hideout, the thugs aren't spawning so I can't get the finger bone. That also means I can't complete A Paragon of Her Kind. Can't enter the alienage in Denerim either but that's a separate matter that (I assume/hope) will fix itself if I can ever get past this mess in Orzammar. Sure hope someone out there can point me to something I've overlooked.

Alienage opens late in the game, near the end.

You found the hideout in dusttown where Jarvia's thugs are? You actually have to go inside the building and fight them. Kind of unclear if you did that. It's in a far corner of dusttown.

Otherwise I'm not sure. I don't believe they require anything but having the quest to show up.

Did you go to Dust Town, ask around about Jarvia and her hideout? If you haven't: Speak to everyone, ask about Jarvia, and then go to the "house" (or something like that), fight everyone, search their corpses, you should find the bone key (now you'll just have to find the hideout's invisible door). If you already did all of this, the corpses should still be in the house in Dust Town, search again for the bone key.

Yes I found the hideout that has the slit in the door I guess you have to stick the finger bone in but I get nothing. The vendor in that shop made some kind of comment about just standing somewhere and eventually I'd see the thughs coming and going...no luck just hanging out and waiting for god knows how long it was...at least 10mins. I get nothing.

Yes, they do. If you went into the last house in dust town, and took out those guys...one of them is the one who gives you the finger bone. But he does that after stopping the fight and asking you where you learned to fight like you do>....

When you get the finger bone, then you go in. Did you kill the guys who drop it? That would be inside the last house on the left as you walk into dust town.

The actual hideout is not the last building. It's 3 doors up.

I can't get anyone to enter into cutscene except the vendor and I bribed him for info on where the hideout was but no options came up on bribing for fingerbone. The other guy just says don't fall from the sky.

You need to explore dust town more. There's another building you can enter (besides the one requiring the bone and the vendor) and that is where you will find the fingerbone.

Make sure you talk to Nadezda by the fire.

There are two doors that you can go into in Dust Town beside the hideout. One leads to the vendor, the other, which is past the hideout and the fire, leads to a room where a bunch of thugs are that will drop the fingerbone.

Talk to a casteless beggar by the fire, named Nadzeda. She'll tell you about Jarvia. Then go down the path, AWAY from the "suspicious door" to another door on the left. Enter, and you'll get a cutscene with thugs saying you've been asking around and now they're going to kill you. Fight them, and you'll get the choice to kill the leader or let him go; either way, you'll get a finger-bone token. Then go to the suspicious door and you'll be able to enter.

Hope this helps.

OK!!! Thanks for all the replies. I had been in that last house about seventyleven times and only had 1 fight there before I got the quest. OK so I'm doing it again and there's like a little "alcove" just to the left of that last begger standing by the door. Thinking of that invisible wall someone said I'm trying to go in and out and all around and then I back out and zap I get thrown into the fight instance. Fingerbone. COOL!!! Thanks everyone.

I have another problem. I've killed all the thugs, but I had to make two trips and the quest won't update to say I killed them. can somebody please tell me where I went wrong?
