Internet exsits to serve man and never to rule over him.So EA(and other companies like Capcom and Blizzard) are templars who are pushing us players(mages) to type stupid online codes and play SP game online to stop 'piracy' so we can't borrow games to our friends, they also make us type an online code and stay online for the game we have already bought and have on original disc, just becouse we have the opprotunity to use piracy doesn't mean we will use it,but Templars are getting more strict with their stupid rules, codes, day 1 DLCs and high prices that more and more players turn to piracy(blood magic) and become apostates(people who play the game without buying it).

Hehe, sorry this is a stupid post but I had this on my mind for 2 days and I just had to get it out :P

What do you think about this XD?

Actually there is no way to battle piracy, no way.

What the companies do is to limit the buyers freedom. Piracy will goes on, no matter what.

Just look at how many "No CD/DVD" patch out there, even a game with complex rule with "online registration" or "online codes", they all being bypassed by "No CD/DVD patch"

Of course the one who use that will never get or hard to get some online features, but still the game can be enjoyed. And for some advance users they totally can hacked the game to get some already build featured but locked in game. Some of the games can be modded, even when there is no official bug fix release, players still can get fixes from mods.

Even if in the future there will be no more CD/DVD and every buyers must buy and play online, believe me there will be pirated version.

Keep in mind, when there is digital system, it can always be manipulated. It is "The Matrix". The highest security bank still cannot escape high intelligent robbers. no matter how strong the antivirus, there will be stronger virus out there...

Even if you make a game that can only be activated online, it still need digital codes, and there are a lot of code breakers out there....if the developer do that, their market will fall down, because not everyone have internet, and not everyone like the idea.

Edit : Those who don't have internet will search for pirated version, and pirates will produce pirated versions for them, there is demand, they supply.

The buyers BUY and want what they buy as their own property, meaning once the buyers buy, it is no longer the supplier property. The more restriction given, the more buyer power decreased, and more buyers will not buy

Edit : For example, the developer build and sell house, but when the buyer buy the house, the key cannot open the door unless contact the developer first, and the buyer cannot change anything in the house because everything in the house is "belong to the developer" (*TM), if the buyer do change anything in the house, it break the "buyer agreement", if the buyer want something new in the house, the buyer must contact the developer and buy new things from developer to add it in the house...who want to buy such house?

I think it means that Game companies are the Templars opressing us game consumers (Mages) by limiting and restricting our freedom to buy/play games as we wish.

So what the developers can do?

Make friends with pirates. like cigarette companies, they all have dealings with pirates. The pirate produce fake cigarette using the company logo/brand, and pay the company some percentage in their selling. So when people buy the fake one, either they know or don't know, the company still gain profit, the pirate gain profit, everybody happy...

Yeah I got that part. Only the title implied we were the templars and EA the mages.

I LOVED it XD LOLOLOL

But talking seriously, there ARE ways to combat piracy, but it is impossible to end it.

But HOW can we fight it? Lower the prices, less DLC (sorry Bioware, I love your work, but you are a DLC "mercenarie"), give little gifts like figures with the solid product, etc...

Pirates gonna pirate, and when you take away any so called "incentives" to do it, they'll still do it.....

http://www.humblebundle.com/

Still pirated. And some people stole it off the server instead of giving copies away.

You never need a reason to not pay for something. Just an inflated sense of entitlement.
