Why is it that the default expression looks depressed as hell? Its hard to get a decent expression that isnt crazy without them looking like they're sad...

I want my guy to be serious and commanding, but its hard to get a serious straight face.

To me they look totally indifferent, perhaps bored. But I don't think I've seen any that look sad.

My other characters look happier, but I intentionally made this city elf with a more... tragic countenance. None of the smiles looked that great when I tried them anyway.

Yeah I guess thats the look at talking about. Also to the guy above, its serious but sometimes too stiff? I want to look natural and serious.

So yeah you can see a few people in this thread with the sad face, atlhough I guess some of them are intentional

It could just be some of the animations are missing from the character creator in order to keep file size/spoilers down?



Some of the voice acting animations are missing for me too, so I have hope there will be more facial expressions other than :

To be honest, though, it would be nice if we got a bit more on the low and high end of the expression scale. What about the really serious or really crazy? What if I want my elf to look like she's about to jump through the monitor and eat off someone's hair!?

I find the default to look more indifferent than sad, though on here my avatar appears to have just a slight smile... I wanted him to look a little stern/serious, but there wasn't really an expression to reflect that, so I went with default.

My gf also said they look depressed.. oh well.. it´s hard times the avatars live in.

Yeah the range of expressions goes from, kinda sad - > cocky - > really REALLY angry -> really crazy



Some more range would be nice.

I just wish it was possible to make an angry face without the PC's mouth being open. It makes them look like idiots. I've found that wide mouths help correct the issue, but only by a bit.
