into it its not meant to be played 72 hrs straight.
Sorry, we don't live in China. You are not supposed to get degrading load times at all. It's an issue that needs to be fixed.

This "longer load times" thing must depend on your PC, despite Gromjr's comment. I have not experienced any long load times at all, let alone load times that get increasingly longer, and I've played for 6-8 hours straight.
It depends on the amount of RAM your computer has. It was immediately noticeable on my PC with 2 gigs of RAM after going to Denerim, or playing for about 1-2 hours.
Now that I have 6 gigs, it takes nearly 10 hours to start reaching the degrading load issue, or less if I go to Denerim alot. But it's definately still there.

I have 4GB OCZ 1066mhz RAM, my load times degrade to 5+ minutes after about 20 minutes.
There are plenty of other posts on this topic that also suggest it's not related to system spec.

I saw a comment a moment ago that it may be a bug specific to i5/i7 systems; can't say for certain, though mine is an i7. What it doesn't seem to be is a memory leak, as is often suggested, as the task manager says it's only about 1GB in size, though it could still be down to poor memory organisation or something like that.Dasos wrote...

In a way I feel lucky that I've only had to put up with around a minute's worth of loading, though that's bad enough, especially given the plethora of DLC and timeout problems when trying to restart: if EA can't fix the bugs, it would be nice if they'd remove the requirement to validate the DLC every time, instead of making their problem our problem.

I've also been experiencing this problem on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 8 GB RAM under Windows 7 64-bit, but not as often as some others have indicated. I can usually play for a good 3 - 4 hours before I notice the loading screens start taking a long time. Even then, it's not a ridiculously long time, just a good 2 or 3 times longer than normal.vometia wrote...

I do not know if it is a memory leak, but the way that the bug is behaving, it does look like some sort of leak, wether it's a resource leak, in-game objects not being cleaned out properly, or whatever.
I have noticed that when I first start the game, after loading a save game, it uses just under 1 GB of RAM on my system. (Around 950 - 980 MB). When the slowdown starts to occur, the game is usually up to just over 1 GB (around 1280 MB). Doesn't really indicate that it's a leak (it could be normal for the game to use a bit more RAM), but there is definitely something going on that's slowing the game down after playing for a while. Restarting the game always fixes it, and brings the memory usage back down to just under 1 GB.
I wonder if it has something to do with having more than 2 cores / hardware threads, rather than something that's Core i5/i7 specific, seeing as the Core 2 Quad is exhibiting the same behaviour.
