I try not to metagame, so I constantly remind myself my characters don't know what happens at one event. So for the most part, I love the guy, except for that one event which makes me dislike his character (well, I should say i dislike the writing for his character at that one event, I don't think it fits his personality).

That's not true! 99% of his ****y, whiny dialogue stays exactly the same post-hardening. Only a handful of dialogues actually change. And by the time you actually get to the point where's he's hardened, you've probably seen most of the whiny banter already anyways and can't be spared.

Aw, poor Alistair. Seriously, I like him, he is not as mature as some of the other characters, but it fits his past. I do love Sten though, possibly my favorite character.

It's just a matter of preference.  That's all.
Nothing wrong with VA by the way.  More how his character is written (for the record, I like it as I have said already, but one part of the game just comes across for me as too OOC/whiny/****, whether you hardened him or no).

At least, Carth had a somewhat decent reason for being all whiny and emo. After about the fourth Alistair **** banter, I wanted to scream at him - "YOU ONLY KNEW THE GUY FOR SIX MONTHS!!!!" IRL, I've had friends for 20+ years that have died and I never carried on like Alistair. I can't even think of an acquaintance that I've had for only 6 months who would actually earn the title of "friend." I guess that's part of portraying a character that was all of 18, but I remember burying a friend of mine right after high school and, upset as I was, I wasn't Alistair! LOL



But stupid gamer girls fawn all over Alistair just like they did over Carth - so the geniuses in marketing are going to keep designing their male supporting roles based off the whiny model! LOL



Hey Bio! You ripped off everything else from FFXII for DA:O! Next time, rip off Basch and design your supporting male characters off of him. PLEASE! I'd really like to have Bio game with an in-game buddy that isn't a wuss! I sure miss Minsc! =D

It's because Sten doesn't whine.



Oghren at least has a somewhat legitimate reason to whine, but he spends most of the time whining about getting dumped. Zevran whines about leather and boots.



Sten doesn't whine. Not one time. Not when he's going to be killed. Nor when he can't find out where his item is. Sandal, too - Sandal doesn't whine. He's everyone's favorite!



I don't know WTF is wrong with Canadian men. Hopefully the men in the KOTORMMO will be a little more Texan. Unfortunately, Austin is about the least Texan city in Texas...

If bioware was ripping off FF then we would all be good looking, the main lead would look like a little girl (talk like one too), and the women would be complete ****s.

Also there would be a lot of over the top attack animations.
