But i find it hard to see that they didn't catch the turian and geth infiltrators in this mix. Especially the turian.

I can totally understand the nerfs to the demolisher and destroyer but the ghost and the geth are way more of a problem than these guys. I can't go into a gold lobby now without seeing at least one other (and i said other because i have been playing him since release.
This thing gives me no reason to use any other character) turian ghost infily, never the turian soldier mind you. At least the geth has one weakness - he's fragile, but turian ghost has not a single one.

He's tanky with stim packs (more so than a krogan vanguard, which is sad). He does amazing damage with a cerberus harrier in his hands (and about this time, i'm pretty sure everyone has one). He can turn invisible........(not that he needs to). He has one of the best anti-shield powers on this game (not that he needs it). And insane mobility with the jetpack movement.

So in conclusion what we have now is a damn near immortal infiltrator the can avoid damage unbelievably well in the first place. And another that can kill anything before it even thinks about shooting him? Bioware i think you missed your shots here, but we'll see once the data pops up of the most used characters in gold and platinum matches. You've done nothing but stopped people from using the other tops and narrowed it down to two classes that will be played the most now.

I know they're going to get nerfed. With either bioware seeing this and looking into it or obvious statistics. Flame me all you want, but this post will repeatedly get bumped so bioware can hopefully glance this. By the way, can't wait to go back to platinum to see solely geth and turian ghosts.

First of all, I don't understand why they would nerf "the best of the best." We finally get N7 soldiers, you know "the best of the best" and now they are just like the other soldiers. You are okay with this.

Second, all of us should be punished because some people, including you, don't have the will power (or are just not bored with them or don't know how to use your imagination or can't figure out a way to make the other characters work) to play another character and experiment and master them. So, Bioware is supposed to nerf them so you can whine that you can't use them like you use to?

Third, I believe I know your problem if you can play the Ghost but not the Havoc soldier who is much more flexible and pust out much more damage (this is just going off actual maxium damage specs you can do to each character without adding any outside skill, guns, or teamwork) and did I mention much more flexible. This is kinda upsetting to me and my friends, most of which can play with the crappiest weapons and still out score me (only by 2-10k). We have fun but we play and learn and we make the game work instead of relying on stats to determine who we will play with.

You can be upset all you want but you know i'm right when it comes down to it, whether you admit it or not. And if you were so good with everything as you propose, you wouldn't mind a nerf to the top classes. Why use imagination and effort on any other class when i can be an idiot with one? Answer that question, then you have my respects.

Let me get this straight... You are sitting there and asking me, "Why use imagination and effort on any other class when i can be an idiot with one?" Well, I guess I would use imagination and effort because I am not an idiot therefore I do not have an idiot way of thinking.  ; skills I have aquired over a very long career. Spec out of stim packs on both new Turians, run a Gold and get back to me. If you can make it through without dying, let's say six times, and do not come in last place, if you are not soloing, then I'd say there is hope for you yet. If not, I think you need to reevaluate yourself and not the kits.

Just saying...

So you can't answer my question? Yeah, i figured that before your response.

New question:
Why would i spec out of immortality when i don't have to?

Because you want a challenge?  Isn't that what this whole thread is about?

You've missed the point of this thread obviously. And in defense of your turian infiltrator, you're not making any.

Oh and you still didn't answer my question.

Not to make a quote train, but I already did.
I will elaborate.

Original question:
Why would I use imagination and effort on a class when I can be an idiot with one?

Answer:
Challenge and Fun.
Fun: I find it fun to find the most effective or otherwise most entertaining build for classes, such as the Pyromainiac Krogan Soldier.
Tough to use, but worth it in big explosions.

Challenge:
Why do you play this game?  To win?  To prove you can win?
You have proven you can win, now would it not be fun to prove that you can win under less than ideal circumstances?
Challenge yourself.  You have options, some better than the rest, but you can choose to have a tougher build that is more rewarding.

Melee Build Batarian Soldier comes to mind.  Kishock and/or Graal.  Put on blade armor for the lulz, spec fully into ballistic blades (explosion) and radius inferno grenades, and have fun blowing stuff up, impaling enemies with explosive spike shot from a wrist-mounted shotguns, bludgeon your foes with your weapon, and have a ball.
I get a lot of enjoyment out of that.  Not as effective as a weapons-platform TGI, but a lot more fun and boomy!

Now, I am going to ask you a question:
Why use imagination and put effort into Gold when you can be an idiot on Bronze?
If you only want to stomp your enemies ruthlessly, why not go on Bronze and steamroll?  Bronze is easier than Gold, and you are pretty much immortal, why would you go to something harder?
Why would you go to where the enemies can kill you more, when you can just power through Bronze?

Very relative answers you gave me.

I don't play for fun. I play to win. Winning is fun to me. Do i deserve to have a insta-win button just because i like to win? You decide that. But i'd rather not. It takes out the fun for me. I like to win by earning it, not by picking some cheap character and mowing through all of the enemies on this game like they're paper. That's what difficulties are for right? A challenge and nothing less should be expected. But using this character, everything gold and down is moved to tin difficulty and that's just unnacceptable. At least lower the amount of credits i get for playing this guy, that would at least encourage me to play other characters so i can at least try to win.

Relative to what, exactly?
I fleshed out possibilities for all preferences:
Play to win easily = Play bronze with top gear
Play to win with challenge = Do not use what you are best at, expand your horizons and challenge yourself
Masochist = Play on Platinum with common weapons and characters

Because you have a button does not force you to use it.
If it is not a fun character to use, then STOP. USING. IT.
What is not clear about that statement?
Problem, its too effective.  Makes it to easy.
Solution, its the class.  Stop using the class, STOP.

Your encouragement to play another character is how much you would enjoy playing as the other character, THERE is your incentive.

You call us out for not listening to reason, yet you derp through every bit of logic thrown at you with contradictions and stubbornness.

Contradiction:
1. I want to earn my win, I want to be challenged.
2. This character makes me win easily, why would I pick another

Do you not see it, these two ideas cannot coexist, they contradict each other by nature.  By refusing to choose to pick another character, you are going against everything you are asking for.

I cannot emphasize the contradiction enough.

Your arguments are refuted, and only you agree with them.  If anyone else gets bored with a character, they stop using it.  This is impossible for you for unknown reasons.

I'm just about done here.  I have made points, and you are not even considering them, choosing to wallow in your own contradictions.

All of these people who have become overly-reliant on the Geth Infiltrator are ridiculous. "Oh, he's perfectly balanced. He's a glass cannon." Um, no he really isn't. The plain Asari Adept is a glass cannon. The GI can see through walls and highlight all nearby enemies in Red. This adds quite dramatically to his survivability.

1. Your equation is wrong. Play to win easily: Turian Ghost Infiltrator.
Play to win easily in a group: Geth infiltrator.

2. What you claim is a contradiction isn't even a contradiction.

What I am saying is that if you get lazy using other characters that are amazing just because one character has the ability to regen his shields over and over with stim pack then you are a bad player. If he is your crutch and one of the only ways you can win is with him then you are a bad player.

The Turian Ghost is an amazing class no doubt and he can turn an average player good or a bad player average because he has more survivability than pretty much any other character while putting out good damage, but it is far from an insta-win button unless someone great is playing it since most people will still end up dead half the game.

Slim don't waste your time. You know he just enjoys trolling.

How about we do a speedrun using the crappiest characters in the game and you shut up? Your choice. Any character.

So this guy has a record for being thick.

lol i agree.  i don't like playing as the GI personally, but i know a few friends that do.  i don't see him too often when i jump into PUGs.  actually, hardly ever.  i see a lot of Vanguards more often now and other biotic classes like the Fury.

Geth infiltrator is fine - his shields are so low that he has a legitimate weakness which limits what he can do - he can't tank damage, so he has to play carefully, stopping any real rampage.

The kroguard is also fine, since it has a pretty low damage output. It's there to be a meatshield, and it does that fine. Sure, you can stick a weapon on him, but it needs to be light for him to tank. The fact that the Reegar and Piranha mitigate this weakness is a problem with the weapons rather than the kit itself.

The ghost, as much as I hate to admit it, is a little broken by virtue of being a jack of all trades, but not master of none. I could live without a nerf, but if they did nerf it, I wouldn't explode in righteous outrage.

The destroyer nerf has been explained by Chris Sanche - it allows weapon releases to be good on something else without being overpowered on him. We lost weapons to the GI, it's good we won't on the destroyer. Frankly, I think they need to buff the weapons that were only good on him.

The demolisher nerf is just pointless - it barely does anything, except arguably prevent camping. Seems a waste of their time, but equally nothing for us to get angry over.

1. Your equation is wrong. Play to win easily: Turian Ghost Infiltrator.
Play to win easily in a group: Geth infiltrator.

2. What you claim is a contradiction isn't even a contradiction.
Lets dumb it down a little more:
1. I want it to be harder
2. Why would I want to make it harder?

Contradiction.

Exactly. People are calling me bad, but they're opposing nerfs to the top characters.

Why? - Because it's what they use the majority of the time of course. What other reason would there be. I wouldn't mind a nerf, cause i know i can manage without one. Obviously the people that are against these "nerfs" aren't ready to lose what cradles them from all the baddies.

So i'm a godly player? Because i can solo gold with focusing much on most of what i'm doing. So what you're saying is i'm a great player?

You're wrong once again. A bad player can turn into godly due to this character. What is it? You and team arelex need crutches like broken characters to do your speed runs and solos? Yeah, i was pretty much guessing that.

Oh and i never got that solo vid with the quarian female engineer by the way. Didn't expect to, but i'm just letting you know.

1) I saw part of your Platinum solo where you wiped wave 1, so yeah...
2) A bad player can not make any character godly at all, so again yeah...
3) I have 2 videos in my sig of speedruns without "crutches and broken characters", feel free to check out the 12 min Turians on Condor Gold or the 13:12 Three Adept and One Vanguard Jade.
4) I never managed to get anyone that could record to be willing to waste an hour dying and I do not have recording equipment. I thought I had someone that could do it, but it turns out I did not and I shouldn't have spoke out before I found out if they could for sure or not.
5) Had to go to another account? How come? lol

Edit: Also, buh-bye now. Didn't even realize you were the same person as before (should have looked at the name and guessed). I already know that no arguement no matter how good it is will work with you, so I am not going to waste my time and neither should anyone else.

Destroyer achieves 5,000 DPS - "He was waaay OP.  Clearly needed a nerf."

The GI cranks out 15,000 DPS - "He's perfectly balanced.  Don't you DARE touch him!"

lolol, I know.  I am trying every bit of logic I can, none of it seems to work

Somewhere in there he said something along the lines of "When I can act like an idiot, why would I put effort into it"
Funny thing is, "idiot" was the word he used!
I think maybe playing as a ghost not only hampered his in-game abilities.

Ah, well that was mean.  well, I am allowed one post of just insults if he continues to insult my intelligence by telling me that black and white are not opposites.

Really? You can?

Because it breaks the game, for me at least. I HAVE PLAYED WITH THIS NEW TURIAN AND HAVE GOTTEN SO BAD WITH SO MANY OTHER CHARACTERS BECAUSE IT PUTS YOU IN A LAZY MINDSET.  Literally while i'm playing with fury - "why play a fury when i can have infinite shields and boss decimating damage?" *switches back to ghost infiltrator*

There should be no character that is insta-win and the fact that this guy isn't ultra-rarity is even more confusing.

I don't follow. Which one is it?

I'm so ****ing tired of this.

I just don't get it. It's such a weird (and, to someone from that there Europeland like me, unamerican) way of "solving" a non-issue.

If you don't like the class, don't play it. If you don't want to play with others who play it, don't play with them. This whole thing of nerfing everything that's good and then, when people inevitably complain the game is too hard (gee, I wonder why), nerfing the enemy is just stupid. It's even more than that. It is, dare I say, moronic.

There are numerous ways to play the game. Just do it whichever way you like and leave me to play it however I like, with whatever I like. Don't ruin the game for everyone who just happens not to share your view.

Well said. The ghost is fine the way he is. To me, every other class is as strong as he is. It all depends on how you spec them. Give me any class and I'll top the scoreboard with them. And if I don't, I'll be mature about it and not go to the forums to cry nerf. Nerfers are a bunch of little cry babies. I'd wish they'd all just f*ck off and play something else.

Also, FWIW I disagree with the Destroyer nerf that they did completely and the Demolisher one really didn't do anything, but even that was not needed.

Leave it to threads like this to ruin it for everyone who are enjoying these classes and have better odds on the higher difficulties.

1) Pointless reference is pointless and has nothing to do with the discussion at hand. Literally no one else (not even your so called "godly at a co-op game against bots that have a defined strategy, i'm special" group of kids from arelex) would not have mad it any further with that character or equipment.

2) I can make turian ghost godly and i'm a bad player Image IPB. Your point?

3) You got me there.

4) I'll let you have that one too...

5) Yeah, i got bored and trolled forums by making a crap load of spam topics and purposely banned myself simply for the lols. Your point once again? I don't take the people on these forums or the forums itself seriously enough to not do stupid crap just out of pure randomness.
