When I was young (a long time ago) I was heavily into Science Fiction (reading books and watching movies and shows). Back then, I found a reference book in a used book store that listed Science Fiction authors and gave a list of their books, discribed their style and provided basic information on the types of characters and envirionments they focused on, and gave a list of suggested authors who wrote in a similar way or about similar things. I found this reference book very useful and that is how I broadened my library and found other authors I really liked.

I have often thought over the years that this same sort of reference tool would be great in a lot of areas of life...sort of an "if you liked, then you'd like" resource.

I really liked the Mass Effect Series of games. Yes, there were some things I would have done differently, but overall I'd say the ME games were the best I've played. I played each game multiple times and then went back and played all the way through several times. Now I have moved on to play some fairly typical fantasy RPGs and had some fun, but now I am looking for another Mass Effect type game...something with a good story, interesting characters, a sci-fi theme, and something to do other than mindless slaughter of enemies.

Unless I am just really bad at research (and I am not), there just isn't anything all that similar to ME out there. I would say there are some older games like Deus Ex, Anachronox, or KotOR 1 & 2, but I thought I'd make an appeal here for any suggestions for more recent games. So, can you fill in the blank..."If you liked ME, then you might like ______"?

Or that this corner of the forums really gets touched anymore. Everyone is focused in the ME3 section.

But yes. Mass Effect is indeed unique. Very much so. I can;t seem to get into other games since playing the ME series.

I like fallout but not got the pace of me.
