Yeah, I actually play AC mostly for the story, but a bad ending in a game that is clearly not the last one would not destroy my enjoyment (I hope). ME1, however, is one of my favourite games ever and experiencing ME3 as the end of it all was really depressing.

Anyway, still a couple hours until I can finally start playing AC3!

Connors story is awesome and it has a solid ending. This game got more "really good" plot twists than most of the so called RPGs.

While Desmonds story is just a cheap style for further franchise milking, i dont mind. If other games "historical campaigns" are going to be that good, my body is ready.

Dem Apples indeed, Ubisoft.

Hehe brillant achivment, double WTF moment for me. And the most bitter part is, I liked Charles :(

BTW take your time and read Animus notes and your emails. Hilarous as usual.

Personly, I don't think I can play the series anymore. Yes Altair, Ezio, Kenway and Connor where fantastic with great endings, but Desmond, the main character of the whole dam series(like him or not) got a horrible end. I won't go into details for people who have not beaten it but I found it far worse then ME3 for many reasons and it just left me with a massive sour taste. Desmond was our way to these great stories and there was a few things I did like in the modern times I just don't know. It's a big shame too because AC2,BH,Rev and AC3 where fantastic, gameplay and writing. I might give it an other go and see if I can complete it again and just stop playing after the last memory.

Also yes, sequence 3 plot twist was bloody fantastic. I personally enjoyed Kenway more then Connor.

I just got to Connor as a teen. Still very very early on. And even knowing the ending will be garbage this game's better than the other games in the series. Connor's dad is awesome. This is all being handled well.

...still don't like Desmond or even remotely care for him, his stories, or his side characters, Mr. House. He's barely a character although the more recent games have really tried to make him one (and so far he's had what I'd consider his first really well done scene in the series with his father). But I still don't like the guy. Or find his fight against a faceless corporation that interesting.

Especially since Connor's seemingly on the path to fighting his father. Which will be epic. I love his father so much and I don't want to see him die... but... damn.

Never said he was a good character, that does not mean you give the guy a horrible ending that outright destorys the character, there's also the issue with his bloodline and no longer seeing anymore of that, unless we find out Clay had another sibling since Clays bloodline is very important because of where it goes to, and could be very intresting.

Also Kenway was the best, loved everything about him.

True. There have to be Desmond fans out there. And the character himself wanted to be left alone and got pulled into this whole mess against his will... then kill the cute blond he was sorta into and now te fate of the world is resting on his shoulders.

He deserves a better ending if no other reason than the fact that he hasn't been able to enjoy life.... his entire life. And the guy's just now starting to act human.

Shame that doesn't happen. But video game endings these days, eh?

Call me crazy, but I am having a ball with this game! I've been running around in the wilderness, sprinting through the trees, laying traps, and hunting like crazy.

I bought a couple of maps in Boston, for the Peg Leg treasures, and am looking forward to more stuff to do on the homestead. I keep moving forward in the story, and doing homestead quests when they pop up, but I still only have one Artisan. Where are they hiding?

Maybe I just need to keep pushing forward in the main and naval quests...

And P.S. I am beginning to hate picking locks. I can't seem to open any of them now. Waa.

I loved Connor but sometimes I wished I was Kenway again. It's the voice, and the hat.

The Sequence 3 plot twist has become imo the best written plottwist ever made. I sadly already knew that Kenway was a templar, but it still remained a great twist none the less!

I like how since Shaun writes the information for locations and such things, you see the other perspective of how things went and what kind of people our "heroes" really were.

Ran into a weird bug.

I'm on one of the Homestead missions, the one where two of the people who live there are expecting a child(eventually), but say they need a doctor.

Then I head to Boston to go get the guy and find out I have to save him from getting attacked while he's drunk-

Problem is, he and his attackers are just standing there doing nothing when I get within range.

I tried all sorts of reloading and restarting. Odd.

Ironically, I'm finding the solution to my problem on a French site with the assistance of Google Translate.

See, this is why I need to learn the rest of the romance languages. French and Italian when able. /got Spanish down when I was little

I find it hard to get invested with Haytham Kenway knowing that Connor is just going to replace him. I sort of wished they had us played as Connor from the start.

Also I love Haytham's voice.

This I agree, never caught'em at my first time. My frustration always leads to some air assassinations.

I want to meet the guy who thought it was a good idea to have the Almanac pages move.

He'd probably played a few too many hours of Bart's Nightmare.

So I did play and beat the game. I'd say AC3 has the best writing of the trilogy, though more of that applies to Boston/Frontier/etc. Graphically, it's close to revelations with some slick additions. Some of the mocap(especially Charles Lee) has some impressive work. Charles Lee has scary eyes. The Plot twists are fantastic.

The Ship Gameplay have to be my favorite part of the game, hands down. It's a fantastic idea that was executed with flying colors.

And now, for the gripes. Yeah, the pages frustrate to no end. I didn't even bother. Spoilers While still more coherent than the ME3 ending, the AC3 end isn't exactly mindblowing.End Spoilers

Overall, somewhere between 8.5 and 9. It won't change gaming forever, but most fans won't be dissapointed.

It changed gaming for me when i ordered my gang to air assassinate a dog :(

Edit:

BTW ım playing AC3 on a 3D tv, i can easly say naval battles are fantastic even with console graphics+3D. I cannot wait to play for PC version.

Yo dawg (sadly I deleted my appropriate avatar)! I've heard that AC III ending is worse than ME3 ending. How is that even possible?

It's not. It's still really bad, but ME3's ending is far worse since Shepard's story was the entire franchise, whereas Desmond's story is only a teeny tiny part of the AC games. How many people could honestly say they've ever gone "Oh boy, a new Desmond section!" whenever they were chucked out of the Animus?

Yeah, didn't think so. We loved AC because of Altaïr and Ezio, not Desmond.

Besides, the AC3 ending smells like a DLC grab from 1000 miles away. Mark my words, Ubisoft will announce their own version of an Extended Cut, but they'll charge for it. Which makes them colossal bastards. But I'd rather have my developers being greedy ****s than edgy grimdark "artists" who thinks they'll revolutionize the industry by breaking their franchise in its final 15 minutes.
