I felt there could've been a branching path choice there at the end. That would've been cool. Didn't happen though.

Yeah, this was my first impression. Mineveva shows you that cinematic of "what would happen" where it shows the next cycle basically repeating all the same mistakes and ignorance of our current cycle. So while it seems like that might have originally been a choice, it doesn't seem like a choice worth picking. Essentially, 6 billion people die so that the next cycle can make all the same mistakes.

As I thought about it a bit more, i reached the conclusion that Ubi was probably showing the player that outcome specifically so the player wouldn't wonder or want to know what they were missing.

Anyway, I am surprised people didn't like the ending. I thought it was quite well done. Everything Desmond is finally over and resolved. I didn't hate him as a character, but I am happy he is done being the protagonist. And he went out in a pretty good way, saving the world but unleashing Juno.

And really, there couldn't be future AC games with Desmond, when you consider the power he wields at Abstergo. Once you start walking around with the Apple and forcing dozens of guards to kill themselves, the gameplay component goes out the window. And they could take the apple away, but then they are just turning the AC series into a longer and repetitive scavenger hunt. I would prefer if future AC games didn't have to focus on finding ancient artifacts or keys, as that has been pretty exhausted plot arc from the start of the series.

I felt those parts of the game were terrible. Completely wasted opprotunity.

I thought Juno was great. Her seething hatred for humanity is what makes the ending so good. You just know she is going to start enthralling as many people as possible. I can't wait to stab her in the neck.

I thought more could've been done regarding the ending, but overall it didn't anger me like Mass Effect 3s ending.

Just recorded a podcast with a couple of friends about Assassin's Creed 3, will post when my buddy finishes editing it and stuff. Possibly Wednesday night.

Terrible ending.

I know my attempts to call the ending were bad,
But I guessed the ending to Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies so I figured I could go Two for two.

I felt this game started going downhill after Haytham died. Ubi failed completely with Desmond's(and a bit of Connor's) Storyline. I assumed Ubi  would make Desmond the ultimate assassin with training of his great ancestors but no we get him stuck in a cave. The only game where I felt Desmond was well done was ACB. The mp in this game is also disappointing compared to ACR and the graphics are severely toned down in MP. Another gripe I have with the game is that it forces you to be the least creative when it comes to assassinating enemies than any other AC game among other issues. I honestly would give this an 6-8/10. Don't get me started on the bugs and unfinished AI.

Yeah, the bugs are absolutely the worst in AC3. However, this is no doubt directly related to the fact that AC3 is the most open and complex game world in the AC series. However, despite all the bugs I encountered in my playthrough there were none that I could not correct or fix.

I ran into a few bugs here and there, but nothing gamebreaking. I didn't mind.

What I did mind was that cutscenes did not retain the outfit colors you bought from shops. It was always the Assassin White.

Oh by the way, did any of you see Connor's fourth hairstyle?

He had his adolescent hairstyle, his regular ponytail as an adult, his Mohawk style, and the fourth is a short style he has when he wears alternate armors like Achilles' Assassin Armor.

Yeah, the outfit colors switching in cinematics was annoying. As soon as I unlocked Achille's outfit, everything else went back on the shelf.

And on that note, wtf is up with Altair's outfit? Unlike the brown leather bracers of AC1, and metal bracers in AC2 and beyond, AC3's Altair's bracers are a light brown, shimmering plastic. It looks so freaking crazy and bad. Altari's robes literally sparkle.

Normally I play all AC games with Altair's robes, but I put these on for about a minute and immediately took them off. WTF did Ubi do to Altair's robes??

I like Achilles' outfit a lot. I'd use Captain Kidd's but the hat's out of place.

I just beat the game today. Got 87% right now. I was planning on going for 100% but I don't know if I will or not. The only quests left to me are the Boston Brawlers (have to find where the hell the Brewery's located to continue that) and the Encylopedia of the Common Man which is tedious and I've only gotten all of the activities for the farmers.

The rest are challenges which I haven't touched unless I happened to fulfil them while just playing the game. And those Delivery missions which I also ignored because I like selling my gear via carvans and ships instead of hoarding them.

As I said I beat the game... that ending is just terrible. I've never liked Desmond's story. I never liked Desmond. But everything about Desmond's story in this game is bad. Serious bonus points for the fact that the big scary Templar David Cross turned into a jabbering idiot. And the big head of the Templars in the modern day has no real security force and then just dies because who cares about Vidic anyway, right?

I really liked Connor's story though. I kinda wish there was another scene with George Washington so Connor could scream at him. Really good game. Probably the best one of the series.

(Yeah, I can say that after bashing the ending. This series has a history of terrible endings.)

Lucky for you, there are some optional and extra conversations with GW. You can find him in lower west side NY.

Also, you can replay the start of sequence 9 (missing supplies), to get in some more GW conversations.

Edit - I recommend doing the sequence 9 conversations first, because they go in chronological order. After that, then there is another convo in Connor's epilogue.

That was really the climax of the Connor story. Taking out Charles Lee afterwards just feels like cleaning up instead of rushing off against the big bad. In fact, I wish Haytham had been saved until the end. I liked Charles Lee as a villain (I loved his anger and sadness over Haytham's death. I felt similar feelings even though I knew the man was destined to die by Connor's hand from the moment Sequence 3 ended).

I felt Connor's story did diminish a little after Haytham's death entirely for the Desmond storyline. Desmond needed to know where yet another plot device was and so Connor took the backseat for a while. But the epilogue was handled well enough. It gave Connor some emotional closure.

That being said I felt it was a wasted opportunity when Desmond made his way to the Davenport Homestead. We see Achilles' tombstone and Connor's tombstone but Desmond doesn't even cast a glance that them. We are our memories and this guy has been Connor... felt his emotions, experienced his life... he was Desmond and Altair and Ezio and Connor. They're all the same guy and he's standing at his own tombstone.

I'm not asking for Desmond to break down or anything, the world has this whole impending doom thing going on, but just a glance at the tombstones. An acknowledgement of the situation, you know?

I already heard those conversations. Each sequence I hit up the homestead, frontier, and the two cities to talk to NPCs. I haven't done anything outside of the Homestead since beating the game. So thanks. I'll be heading to NY as soon as I get back on the game now.

That wasn't the tombstone of Connor Kenway, that was the tombstone of Connor Davenport, Achilles' son.

That wasn't Conners (Ratonhnhaké:tons) Tombstone...
It was Achilles Sons Tombstone (Who was named Conner)
Check the date of death on it.

Yeah, it is quite sad when you see the painting and the tombstones and you realize how much Achilles must have lost in his life. It is also sad that he names Connor after his dead son.

I saw the tombstones, I put the painting up, I saw the ruins of where he used to keep the painting (I assume those ruins used to be his house)... but somehow I never read the names on the tombstones.

It is sad, and very telling, that he named Connor after his son.

His son died when the kid was seven, I believe.

Seven.

So yeah, naming Connor after his deceased son IS quite telling.

^ You have to wait until sequence 12? Well, that explains it. Thanks!

I tried last night and you can get it before sequence 12, just enter the tavern and it will be there :)

On a side note: I beat Achilles' minigame! I'm kinda satisfied now, it was the last minigame I needed for the achievement and I feared it would take me 20+ tries like the one at the Inn.

Thanks, got extremely lucky of course.
I was showing the minigame to my brother, because I told him that there were difficult minigames and he didn't believe me, and I beat it at first try -.-

Obviously he still doesn't believe me.

How do you get more special iron ingots? Does anyone know?

And why are they so damn hard to get? I've beaten the game there's no reason at all for me to even craft these weapons now. You know... other than the fact that I'm insane and for some reason want to get everything.
