Yep, you read the title correct. Instead of nerfing certain things, making the entire fanbase (well, almost the entire) go bananas to protect their valuable favorite class (that is, by magic, everyone's favorite class), why not buff all the underdog weapons?
We got several Kishock buffs in the recent past, for instance. I choose the Kishock here because it is my favorite weapon, whilst considered the worst sniper rifle by many players. A charged shot does about widow damage, with the slight difference of bleeding: 40% of total damage are damage over 5 seconds. These stack: Firing multiple bolts at a target, no problem due to the Kishock's fast reload, makes it basically bleed out . Also, it ignores reaper and guardian armor and pierces Shield-Gate (!). Certain protections are also ignored by this weapon.
Here we got the downsides however: It takes a lot of practice to master the Kishock: If you are actually able to predict where a shot goes, charged or not, you inflict massive damage however. Also, the charge time (about 1-1.5 secs) gets the rifle on par with a widow in puncto reload speed.
This is my point: Weapons that actually take skill and offer more tactical potencial, such as the Kishock mentioned above, the falcon, the graal, the arc pistol etc.....should be buffed.
Look at the changes we got recently: The black widow gets buffed.
And that's the point where the fun ends.
We got two types of weapons in this game: The point-and-shoot ones (Widow, Black widow, harrier, Paladin, Piranha, Claymore) that do tremendous damage while being nothing special and the special ones that do not behave like a pistol or assault rifle or whatsoever in the classical sense. Those are barely used by anyone: Take the Kishock, Mattock, Incisor, Crusader or eagle. They also do tremendous damage and have some awesome side effects, however, they commit one serious crime the fanbase of an ego shooter will never accept:
They require practice while having an easy-to-use counterpart.
Why should I use the graal that requires me to predict the projectile's way when I have a sniper rifle that does the same job and even has a scope? Why use the saber if the harrier dishes out much more damage and is more stable than the striker at the same time? Why, why, why. Oh my.
Buff more, nerf less. That is my point.
Buff ALL the things!
