Eh, doesn't excite me and seems really unplausable. Maybe make them Protheans and your cooking with gas. Collectors are a slave race completely dominated by the reapers so it would be hard to do. Protheans yes, collectors no. If they added them I wouldn't complain but I wouldn't go out of my way to play to unlock them.

You're missing the part about the Collectors being thralls, controlled by Leviathan. We already know the Leviathans can dominate other organics, even Reaper creatures. Plus, we know that operatives were taking Leviathan orbs, the things they send their signals through, behind enemy lines to control enemy forces. So, what makes a Collector character so implausible?

I'm sold. This would be an awesome addition if Bioware were to make it happen.

maybe check my edit yeah.  And I still hold that Protheans are more likely and a more viable choice.

Never played Leviathan, but I agree if that's how the story to the DLC goes...

This is a proposal for a playable Collector character; the Leviathan DLC makes this viable, since the Leviathans have the power to indoctrinate Reaper forces. Thus, it isn't lore breaking.

Collector Thrall (Adept)

-
Dominate
Singularity
Throw
-
Enthralled
Fitness

Description:

The Collectors are an enigmatic race from beyond the unmapped Omega 4 Relay that possess bizarre and highly advanced organic technology, including chitinous armor and weapons unlike anything see anywhere else in the galaxy. They were recently discovered to be agents of the Reapers, husks created from the extinct Prothean race, and are infamous for their part on the abduction of dozens of human colonies in the Attican Traverse in 2185.

The Collector Thrall is a Collector Captain indoctrinated by the Leviathans, the Reaper's mysterious creators. With the power to enslave Reaper forces, the Leviathans have made several Collectors into disposable soldiers who wield powerful biotics, as well as the ability to indoctrinate other organic beings, including Reapers.

Biotic Dash (Dodge)
A biotic fueled dodge that drains a small amount of barriers when used. Also used by Asari characters.

Collector Blade (Light Melee)
This is the same chitinous blade that you see normal Collector Troopers and captains using, and serves as the Thrall's light melee.

Barrier Pulse (Heavy Melee)
Similar to the Geth's Shield Pulse heavy melee; when you hold down the Melee button, the Collector Thrall rears back, sending out pulses of biotic energy that disintigrate enemies within range. The disintigrating effect is the same as the Collector Sniper Rifle.

Regeneration (Character Trait)
The Collector Thrall has the ability to fully regenerate health, though not as quickly as Vorcha.

Ancient Technology
(Character Trait)
The 'Enthralled' passive skill grants the Collector Thrall a bonus to weapon damage for Collector and Prothean weapons, much like the Geth's unique weapon damage bonus.

Leviathan's Wrath (Voice Set)
As one of it's thralls, Leviathan comunicates through the Collector Thrall Adept much like Harbinger did with his possessed drones in Mass Effect 2. His dialogue is somewhat similar to Harbinger's but he also has unique lines specific to Leviathan himself. Potential dialogue listed below; just afew examples:

"Assuming direct control" (Use Dominate)

"Our vengeance is at hand"
(Start of match)

"Fulfill your purpose"
(Revive teamate)

"They pay their tribute in blood"
(Wave cleared)

"Protect this vessel"
(Enable/Disable objective)

"Witness our power"
(Use any power)

Post you thoughts.

This is really cool! I've always wanted to play as a Prothean. That won't happen, so this is the next best thing. really great idea

no.

Though it is still better than Protheans.

In what way are indoctrinated Protheans, controlled by the Reaper better than living Protheans that may have survived like Javik in another system? As far I know Javik himself made a statement that they lost contact with a lot of other Prothean controlled systems a long time ago before they decided to go into cyro stasis. When Javik found out he is the only survivor, he only knew for sure he was the only survivor in his, isolated system.
Or did I misunderstand?

I am not sure if it would be ok to possess and use dead Protheans against their will in a fight thats all about living beings deciding on their own fate :) But thats something your Shepard has to decide :P

But then again, if the Leviathan argument works for the Collectors, why not getting playable Yahg, Rachni or maybe Reaper forces? Why not Zoidbeg?

Well I am in! Nothing against variety in multiplayer. But when Collectors are a reasonable addition, everything else in a infinit universe is as well :)

This is what I was saying. Javik says he's the only one, but that's just what he knows. There may be others still frozen, and the Alliance/Council should unfreeze them. BAM! More troops for the war who are expeirenced with Reaper troops

This is actually a really well thought out idea OP, I wouldn't mind seeing this happen; especially so since I played all of ME2/3 in the collector's armour..

Wow, I really love this one. You did quite a great job here. This would be an Adept I'd actually use lol, and I don't like Adepts. I can see it now......elbow blading the Collectors to death. >:3

It sound really cool and great job on the description, although I hate the Collectors because of multiplayer (Brings over powered to a new level). Still sounds great anyway.

Give it new, unique powers rather than Throw and Singularity though.

Like Seeker Swarm, which could be like a debuffing version of Reave.

Yes please, I'll take two.

Dark Channel and Slam would also be valid powers, since Javik has them.

I think Slam is actually bugged... I've used it in single-player, and it doesn't seem to actually lift enemies off the ground, it just knocks them over.

I think someone on a nother thread said that one of the Devs said that Slam won't work properly in multiplayer due to some technical issues (can't remember what they were - maybe inducing slam triggers a vanguard glitch and makes opponent fly into the sky :wizard:  ).

We were told all protheans are dead. Then we find Javik's cryotube. There's no reason there couldn't be more cryotubes out there. The Prothean Empire was v fragmented by the end, there could have been multiple redundant plans which javik would not have known about during the chaos of war.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Leviathan-indoctrinated Collector! We can already play Geth against geth factions. But it's true that for someone who has just started the game and then starts playing MP, seeing collectors would spoil the ending of Leviathan for them in SP.

I just made an account on this place just so I could say how fantastic this idea is. I concur on the whole thing about the collectors using their wings to dodge, that would be cool, and also on the point about unique powers like swarm. Having a power to make yourself go all glowy and superpowered a la 'assuming direct control' would also be cool. I think that collectors would be a much better and more unique addition to multiplayer than protheans, too, with about the same plausability.

Awesome, but I don't see them doing this as it kind of spoils the Leviathan DLC for those who haven't played it.

yeah, they haven't recycled the Collector Armor or the Blood Knight Armor yet.

Have they recycled the N7 Defender?
