Pro Mage or Pro Templar

I'll do one pro templar play through, buy my canon is going to pro mage. I don't think it's right to throw them in the circle and take away their freedom just because what they might do. I think that once a mage is trained and passes their harrowing they should be allowed to leave the circle. The templars would still watch over the circle mages and hunt blood mages.

Mages showed at the end of DA2 they're hopelessly moronic - and I saved more mages siding with the Templars than I did with the Mages.

I'll gladly kill all templars and make revered mothers cry as the Tevinter Imperium comes back to rest of Thedas and rule out like they should in the first place.

Are you talking about what Anders did or What Orsino did? Anders did what he did because he wanted to destroy any chance of compromise because honestly it isn't compromise when one party is making all the rules. As for what Orsino did, when your back is against the wall you'll do some crazy ****. I don't think they should have had him resort to blood magic if you sided with him however, that kind of annoyed me.

Bioware confirmed that they would make less crazy mages seeing as they over did it in DA2.

Nah - Anders is a whole different kettle of fish and exists in his own moronic world.
Orsino is one of many moronic mages that in order to protest against what people were afraid they would do....they did what people were afraid they would do.
Regardless - when I sided with the mages - I was like - What Da Fuq are you all doing??!?? I'm trying to help you!!??
Templars left more mages safe and sound and intact by dictating to the templars to spare mages who were good. So I'll play a pro-templar that wishes to introduce much more lenient mage life styles.

The memory Grand moron Orsino does linger with me despite my natural pro-mage sympathies. Therefore i'll see which has the greater mass of morons in DA3 and side with the other side

Neither side is right because both sides have flaws in their viewpoints and how it should be handled
Mages should be monitored in some way. It's too much power. They should have more rights though and the way the Templars handle them, it's no wonder why they rebel. Why can't they see their families? Give them more freedom, educate them about their abilities, but also keep an eye on them without shackling them down. Isolation isn't the way to handle it...

lol - this is actually probably the best way to look at it. We're not picking the right side - we're picking the least stupid side.

Edit: If I had to choose, I guess I'd pick the Templars as the lesser of two evils. Orsino still let that crazy guy turn my mom into the bride of Frankenstein.

I was following this methos in DA2, though Anders and Meredith helped me in the choice. The Circle wasn't involved in Anders's attack, so it was innocent (in this matter).
Though I hope that I don't have to follow this method in DA3. I want both groups to fall in the gray area. Not bad, not good. Both were bad in DA2.

Although as someone said before I will not just help the mages blindly. I will protect the innocent as much as possible. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

They were made tranquil, that's what happens when you "save" someone during the right of annulment.

I don't like the way that the Chantry vilifies mages and gives templars "dominion over mages by divine right." I don't see my protagonist siding with the Chantry or the templars; if the opportunity presents itself, my protagonist would side with mages seeking to maintain their autonomy. I see no reason to help restore the status quo.
I already asked someone else, would you be fine with an indipendant Circle system, freed from the Chantry, with an organization composed by both mages and non-mages with equal power to watch over them?
