Hello there, i was just thinking about this old battle again and wanted to see what other people think is the best. I also dug up this poll on the matter so you can vote on it: http://social.biowar...7&poll_id=17251
Personally i'm in favor of the dialogue tree because first, you have a lot of more choices than just the three with the dialogue tree which is one of the main reasons i can replay DA:O. I almost never get the same answer from NPC that i got in my previous playthrough. Second, it leaves more to the imagination with the voice. This way i never get stuck with a voice i dislike. I've got some other things i like better with the dialogue tree but the ones i named was the ones i could come up with now.

So, what do you guys think?

The difference between the two is completely aesthetic. There's no real difference. You CAN fit more than a couple of choices on a wheel, but for whatever reason they choose to liit it to three to five.

I like the dialogue tree but most of the games that have this are for PCs without a voice, wich I dislike.

I prefer the dialogue tree. It actually allowed for more accurate dialogue because I could tell exactly what my character was going to say. Sure, there were times where I raged at the dialogue options, either because they were too heartless for the character I played or too sympathetic, but it was certainly better than hitting a mood button and then go "WTF, that's not what I meant to say."

And for that matter, voiceless dialogue tree vs voiced dialogue wheel...still going with the dialogue tree.

I agree that the paraphrasing still leaves me sometimes saying things I don't intend to say even after 3 Mass Effects, Dragon Age II and SWTOR. Nothing wrong with a dialogue tree AND voiced protagonist if you ask me. But for some reason this is very rare. Works in Monkey Island, though :)
