I really don't want the too long cooldowns on healing from DA2 in any other future game. Unless they are optional (like nightmare only or a toggle or used in some kind of expert mode like they will have in project eternity).
If I want to spam potions I should be allowed to. I don't always spam potions in DAO, but sometimes I want to focus less on tactics and sometimes I focus more on it. No one forces me to spam potions, so when I don't feel like spamming I simply don't spam them...
Please keep the health potion cool down from DA2 anyone agree

If you want an easy game you can put it on casual difficulty - and I suppose Bioware could remove the potion cooldown on that difficulty too.
But on other levels it's part of Bioware's job to balance the game. It's not my job to work out how I should handicap myself to allow some semblance of challenge. Potions are part of that balance, just as much as everything else. A spell that killed every enemy in the area instantly without a save would be not be an acceptable part of the game, and potion spam is no less unbalanced.

I have to wonder, were people really having a difficult time with the longer potion cooldown in DA 2 on the lower difficulty settings, because even on Nightmare, I thought that the potion cooldown (in conjunction with Heal, Group Heal, crowd control, and cross-class combos) was fine.

See a few people making this arguement but it truly doesn't work like that, system balance doesn't work in a void if the ability to spam potions is in place then it is likely that certain parts of encounter design would have the harder content with this in mind leading to not necessarily the /need/ to but more emphasis towards that style of play. The fact that it is available leads towards an environment where it's fairly necessary to use. This is true of all sorts of arguements on these forums, simply refusing to do something on the basis you don't agree with it doesn't mean that the thing doesn't have effects simply by existing.
'course this isn't exactly a hill I'm prepared to die on or anything but I would prefer a focus on tighter, more deadly encounters, instead of reintroducing a problem with the ability to spam (and also the fact that you might need to spam but also might not have the items to do so).

Remove potion cooldown on casual difficulty. Its casual players that wants the cooldown gone, anyway. problem solved.

How about they cut the cool down time in half from DA2 of add some type of upgrade to make it shorter
