I first had some doubts about it and hated it a bit but after a match with some good people I realized something.

1. The place is PRETTY!
Image IPB

2. The huge swarm can be made mad by shooting it! This is also pretty.
Image IPB

3. The asari sentinel is made for the map just because she can happily go through the swarm with pretty much no repercussions! Especially good with escort missions!
Image IPB

4. A frenzied swarm will kill your team mates fast after their shields run out. Why is this useful? You can kill off your team mate that is about to get sync killed saving them in the process. PS: I'm really sorry Pela.

5. Glacier Hazard makes Reapers look AWESOME! Also the swarm hurts the enemy also.

It's a great map! Thanks Bioware for making this thing! It's excellent for going absolutely NUTS in!

For added win blast this throughout the match!

Nice pics! I haven't been able to play the hazards yet and this make me even more excited. You should do the same for White. :-)

One of my friends hated it. I haven't personally played it though. Too busy with Platinum on larger maps.

Man I wish I coulda played this last night (internet issues -.-). So basically, we have a big ball of bugs and, unless provoked, will go biblical locust plague on whatever it feels like or whatever pisses it off? Talk about frantic in a small map.

As a 'noob' I greatly enjoyed the hazard. When I first saw it I was like WTH is that?

But it added to the challenge of the level and seems to impact enemies as much as your team.

I likey!

I love it. Last night kept trying to get the swarm to kill my friend, but she was using the BAMFing Shaman, so she just laughed it off.

I woke up today at 5:30 AM because I couldn't sleep, and decided to check it out. Bad idea. Right now I remember the place like I have dreamnt of it, but I have to keep reminding myself that it is real.

Hopefully I'll be able to play there again tomorrow, at a more reasonable hour, and my memory will be less... hazy.

So you are taking screen shots and admiring the pretty colours while poor Pelagnom is down in one image and going down in another? You beast!

My Salarain got trapped by the bug swarm near the LZ  and tried to run downstairs, however a Praetorian came around the corner just at the moment.  The swarm enveloped me and I went down very very quickly.  I was very respectful of the swarm in games after that.

I have loved all the hazard maps! I wait for the next set to come out with anticipation similar to a new DLC. The level of modeling down to even the sound effects for the hazards maps is incredible. I am always fascinated when I get there until the enemy brings me back to my purpose for being there.Image IPB

Awesome job on the pics btw.

I killed this one mob by pulling him into the swarm with lash, pretty entertaining.

Did a mission on this glacier map and must say i hate it. Not because i was constantly reviving a geth co-player, (i played as vanguard asari) not much damage taken via the swarm thing, but the buzz of the swarm is sooooo annoying to me. That is my 2 cents. After that I played the new hazard white map and loved it. I will play that one until maps are changed out. Love the wind and poor vision so shoot, does make it challenging and should be worth more than +15 bonus. Keep up the great work bioware.

Sucks with a laggy host tho, as the swarm becomes invisible (its appearance stays where it spawned) and kills You to death out of goddamn nowhere and theres nothing You can do about it apart from ragequitting.

This thread deserves a like button. I'll just add that stimpacks are very handy for walking through the swarm. Would be cool if we could go all ME2-style and have a Biotic bubble shield us from the effects.

The SHINY! Is more important than team survival!
At least we got full extract in the end.
(Yes I am a horrible HORRIBLE person to run into while pugging.)

It's an extremely pretty map... I really like it... which I find surprising b/c Glacier is my least favorite map by far.

Both maps are pretty awesome.

Glacier, last night, having played it a few times now, warned my pug that the swarm would kill them and that they could not kill it. Of course, they all had to see if that was true. Serial dying and reviving took place for the next few minutes. At the end it was camping (circling) the LZ. We were playing ring around the boxes as the timer hit zero. Unfortunately, two were left outside the circle (or left without chairs, your choice of childhood game).

White is a lot like Dagger, reduces visibility for the good guys but doesn't seem to effect the bad guys; the wind sounds are great, OBTW. Got killed with 3 seconds remaining, while in the LZ, by a Scion who was in the doorway at the top of the ramp, who I could not see because of the snowstorm. It stunk, but that's the way it went down. Wish the blizzard would reduce the enemy effectiveness as much as it reduces ours. But it was fun and the map is beautiful in a blizzard.

This very thing happened to me last night, on my first game on the map.  Very confusing.  Random grenade spam got us through to extraction though.
