Well that's rather silly for it to only have a chance of popping considering it's Operation Valkyrie and all.

It is a promo weapon only unlocked from completing squad/individual goals over Weekend Operations. If you just jumped into the game this week, sorry Charlie you're out of luck (not necessarily directed at you but towards new players that might be reading this).

 I'm actually gonna do this operation. I love the Crusader and completed the shotgun challenge for that the other day. If only I had waited a whole...
Still, back l the Crusader it is, I reckon just one shot from my cloaked GI should complete the challenge in one go.

This is just stupid... So to participate you have to have earned a commendation pack once...

Way to lock out people like me from participating... Whoever came up with that idea deserves a kick in the balls.

Atleast let ultra rare weapons participate aswell, or give everyone some promotional weapon. Locking everyone that doesnt have a promotional weapon out is just.. meh.

I can't help it. I see a bad guy, I just have to hit them with a power. Preferably something that makes them blow up or throws them across the room. Usually accompanied by mummblings of 'the force is strong with this one' in the deepest voice I can muster (probably why i rarely use a mic).

How am I supposed to overcome such an ingrained, basic instinct to instead score so many points by shooting things with a handfull of weapons, most of which are only low level?

respec a toon and only give him the passives until the challenge is done

You should.  It doesn't expire until Monday morning in North America.  I don't know GMT time, so I can't convert it for you.   The challenge expires in 70 hours.    It's 9:50am EDT.

I think this is a nice type of challange - but highly unfair to people who hasn't unlocked promo weapons before.

I'll have no problem with this challange I have N7 Crusader and N7 Eagle so I can complete it. However people who does not own any promotional items... well, that is not nice.

Why didn't do a similar challange but with basic weapons?

"We lost a few weapon shipments we have only basic weapons like Avenger, Predator, Katana, Shuriken. Earn 50.000 points with these basic weapons."

In this case you could do a similar challange (players should use some predefined weapons) but you are not excluding some players from the challange.

Also I very miss community goals. The spice of these weekend challanges was the community goal. Kill zillions of Brutes / Atlases, make tens of thousands of pizza delivery, etc. Community goals were a huge motivation to make another run.

They usually end Monday 2 pm (GMT+2) so yes

I never liked the extraction on gold challenges because I could never get that far.  I'm a bronze/silver player. 

If they are doing these every weekend and not every two, there is always going to be one weekend you don't complete.  Saying someone needs a kick in the balls for this weekend is silly.  Next weekend might be harder and many people don't complete it.

EDIT:  They had a few weekends where you needed to use a character from one of the DLC packs.  And what if you never got one to use for the weekend?  What's the difference?  This is not the first time they've done something like this.  If you don't have what is required, you are SOL.

Agreed. Apart from the kick in the balls stuff. That might be a bit harsh.

But to do this we need to have earned previous commendation packs, with the last challenege we had to have krogan unlocked (I do now, I didn't then). So people just getting into (or trying to get into) multiplayer are a bit out in the cold.

How about a game we can all play next week, hmmm? Not saying it should be easier, just saying that some weekends you should be able to take part even if you don't have a lot of stuff unlocked.

just one question: I've earned 34.000 points with my Hurricane, but Operation hasn't started yet (it will begin in almost 3h)... the question is: I've to earn ALL 50.000 points AFTER the operation begins, or when it has begun I only need to earn those 16.000 more point to get the 50.000 they required?

EDIT:  okay, checking my N7 HQ it says I have 0 points earned on the Operation (obviously, it hadn't started yet), so someone knows if they will update to my 34.000 points when it starts or I'll have to restart like it seems?

I think they are giving us a new counter just for the operation, and any damage you do with the weapon will go in that counter, as well as the counter in the specific challenge section.

Kinda like how you have a counter for the pirhana in Earth Mastery at 200,000 as well as a shotguns mastery at 140000.

Regarding some of the comments calling this operation unfair--because some players don't have a promo weapon unlocked--I disagree. Put simply: it *rewards* those who have been playing long enough to already be in possession of such a weapon.

Nothing at all wrong with this whatsoever. In fact, I would go as far as saying that, I for one would like to see *more* challenges that do this.
