Again, its not deliberate, my intention was to destroy the reapers, nothing else. And why would i even believe that the leader of the reapers tells me? I didn't know it would definatly destroy edi and the geth

Presumably that dreman's made a typo. I don't know why everyone isn't using a browser with autocorrect. My iPad even knows how to spell Prothean, though it insists on capitalizing the word, and I'm pretty sure that's no more correct than capitalizing human.drayfish wrote...

your six endings that all result in complete ethical compromise and that betray fundamental human rights in order to arbitrarily survive - all sound like dreary meaningless slush to me.
Of course, not all ethical systems need to compromise there. Any flavor of utilitarian wouldn't see it as such -- assuming that "ethical compromise" even applies to a utilitarian. And even a deontological system can get away with Destroy if the system has an escape hatch for unintended known consequences, such as the double effect doctrine. Might even work for Control too, depending on what Shepard does with the power.
I'd ask what you mean by "existential nihilism," but I guess you're done with this.

Within the confines of the ME universe, the geth clearly are considered people by the narrative, just as valid as any other race. Their deliberate destruction is genocide.
So hypothetically in the ME universe tossing a laptop with one geth program in it out a window is killing a person?
i think not.

No
So, choosing to eliminate an entire race... isn't genocide?
You know, explaination would be nice. You only ever seem to post the dictionary definition of genocide whenever it comes up. At this point, I can interpret your comment several ways. Either you don't see the Reapers as a species, or you don't think picking Destroy makes the deaths 'deliberate.'
Its not deliberate, and the geth are machines not a race
Destroying a bunch of machines does not match any description of genocide anywhere

Pretty much. The geth aren't killed deliberately by Shepard, but the Reapers are.
OTOH, it still might be more moral to destroy them than to control them, or to synthesize everyone.

The problem is that we do not have to ask this kind of question in real life (and I hope we never will). I said this before, the term "genocide" involves genes which synthetics do not have, that indicates how far away of true morality we actually are here. It is a hypothetical question.

No doubt, but you’re pissing in the wind trying to convince this lot. You know, given the fact the game itself doesn’t give the slaughtered Geth due reverence, we really shouldn't expect its supporters to do so.

If that is hinting back to that last plea topic...Then what I stated about the op is literly based on what She said .
Which was she wanted an end which Shepard stops the reapers with out sacrifing any thing.
That been the general concessus with most people who don't like the ending.
There cased that people don'tlike the endingbecause it conflict with there moraly ground like with drayfish.
And other where they want conventional victory.
I seen all the complains. But one other things that most people seem notounderstand is what my arguement are.
I'm basicly say that everything done in this game is based on what the writers want convey and diliver in this story. Everything you ask what you want the story to change into goes ageinst what ever they want to convey.
All I trying to do is say is too look at a different perspective on the endings. You don't have to like it. Just don't be so blind to it's points.

You're not getting it. You were bleeding out on the ground , the crucible was not working and at the moment you had no way to stop the reapers.
It could of easily kept on harvesting and won the war if winning was it's goal. Yet it did not....Why?
