Well is it? I'm planning on playing easy cuz I heard normal is too hard. So how easy is easy in this game and why? From 1 being easiest to 10 being hardest how easy is easy.
Is easy difficutly too easy?

On PC: 3
On console: 1
That's my opinion anyway.
For PC if only comparing the difficulties in Dragon Age to each other, not comparing to other games:
Easy: 3
Normal: 7
Hard: 9
Nightmare: 10
And I stand by that. Easy is too easy. Normal has quite a few moments where I really have to micromanage. I have found if I can play on normal with no problems then I can play 65-75% of hard with no problems. If I can play hard with no problems then I can play 90% of nightmare with no problems.

Try playing on normal first. You can always adjust the difficultly level midgame. Honestly, normal isn't that challenging once you're able to figure out the game's mechanics.

This is true, but it can take a while for some people.
I took me a couple playthroughs till I could do normal with absolutely no issue.
Now on my 4th, I'm switching between nightmare and hard and only having problems on bosses (oddly, my PC has not died yet (at 12, almost 13), as a 2h tank, very odd, but gives me satisfaction in knowing how I have grown as a player).

I find normal kind of impossible at times. What else can you do to a grand melee of 6-7 simultaneus wyverns besides fireballing your whole party? Or CoC-ing your whole party? Or glyph-bombing your whole party? Those guys are pretty much on your ass as soon as they make themselves known, so it's friendly fire all around.

Go Easy if you don't like reading much and learning all the details of spells and talents.

I like it on easy, because I'm more into the game for the story than the challenge. Is it too easy? Not for me.

If you set up tactics, you can have the AI win every encounter on easy, while you sit back. Are you saying you're worse than AI?

Easy is awesome specially if you want to know what is going to happen with the story. however nightmare is crazy, waves of waves of mobs smashing with your shield or giving them the taste of your blades at the same time it gives a twist in playing the game. Once done you feel great. I like the battle and strategy you can come out with in this game. So far I'm happy with DAO well done Bioware.

You can just pick the Easy first. If you're not having any challenge, then change it to Normal during the game. Still too easy? Change it to hard etc. etc. If you die in some specific battle a few times, then try it again with an easier difficulty setting. This is what I have been doing and I'm very pleased. Having enough challenge without getting frustrated by not having any change at all in some battles.
