Bioware, first and foremost, wants to make money at the end of the day. Normally, they create a game with the hopes it sells well enough to recoup the development costs and adds a hefty margin on top.

What if we paid for the development of a new ending? What does Bioware have to lose?

I have $23,753.78 in the bank. Bioware can have every last penny. I consider it an investment, not for a game, but my own happiness.

If I'm the only one who invests, so be it.

If my contribution results in a single text slide, it would be enough. It would mean that I made a difference, that I didn't give up, and that I didn't let Shepard down.

It's been nearly 8 months. I can't get over it. I cant move on. I tried to by happy. I've tried to forget.

I guess I'm just looking for a bit of hope, because I ran out of it a long time ago.

we would have the exact same issue that is goin on with all those Kickstarter projects, they get donations, then scrap whatever the donations were for and pocket the Cash.

I honestly do not think Bioware would just pocket the cash for a kickstarter-like donation, but I would not risk the money..

OP, you think they do not know that they could cash just by making what some fans want?

They will not do this. There is things that money cannot buy.

Get rid of all your Mass Effect copies and spend your $23,753.78 in alcohol until you forget.

no they did not, we actually got a product, even if it did not satisfy many.

the issue going on with Kickstarter is people are donateing to fund games they like the sound of then the developer cancels the project, and takes all the money people had donated to fund it for a "night on the town"

You could buy a ticket to go 1/12th of the way to orbit before they boot you out. :D

If you have girlfriend then take care of her, make her happy by spending some cash on nice dinner, god damnit move on from the ending, if you don't have girl then go out and find one, look I've been there, in March, but I've moved on, but in the end everything its up to you.

Yeaaaaaahhhhh...I'd fork over like...10...or 15...you know...in a DLC... that'll be my funding of a project. Not giving them money on the faith that i'll be satisfied at the end with their finished product. They've proven woefully inept at providing adequate satisfaction so far for faith to carry my currency.

No you can not have a new ending.......the ending is how Bioware intended, their great vision....you can stump up 25 million and it would not change a thing,it's all about artist integrity.....right?

Fund a new ending? How about by simply buying future DLC?

I mean, if Puzzle Theory is on the right track, I look forward to future DLC that can modify the odds into Shepard's favor and provide us more options for the ending.

I wish.    I do think there are far more productive discussions to be had on this board regarding the games, the Mass Effect Universe and the characters.

@OP I feel your pain, but I don't think Bioware will crowdfund a new ending. Even so, a small part of me still has hope that eventually there will be a better ending, either in ME4 or in some DLC, because they would definitely make a ton of money on it. Until then I'm playing multiplayer -- something that I was opposed to when I first heard about it, but which actually has kept me thinking positively about the ME universe. Want to work with other species to defeat the bad guys and also meet some nice RL people? Play MP. (Don't spend money on it, though.)

Bolded the important part.

IF PT is right then they can have my money.

Until then, my cash will be going elsewhere. Like the Abysswalker DLC (To anyone who knows what the hell I'm talking about do not walk in there with anything below lvl 80. You have been warned. Kalameet is Bull****!)

"IF" is a big stretch, especially since before ME3's release there was hardly a room for 'IF' in the same sentence as "ME3 is awesome"

So IF they make the DLC, and IF it turns out to be good and IF I personally find it satisfying, THEN, I will buy it.

That's three IFs before any kind of purchase. I've already thrown enough money into a franchise that's largely considered a failure by and large at this point to me and many others.

How about I give you all the money in my bank just to stop beating this long dead horse, it's only about £80 though. It's still a huge sacrifice because it means I can't go and see Skyfall this weekend.

JW, where are you going to rent it from?

Game and Movie Rentals are going bankrupt left right and center.

This time last year we had 3 rental places in town, now we have none. Even when heading to bigger cities (Toronto, Halifax) for work, I have an extremely hard time finding rental shops

What you're doing OP is bribing Bioware to make you a new ending. Bribing someone to do you a favor is considered blackmail. A hefty offense under the criminal code of Canada. I wouldn't want someone to get in trouble for doing something incredibly silly. When emotions are high, people tend not to think rationally.

They've said they have no plans to change the ending, and it's final.

If this is how you truly feel, then you likely should consider discarding your ME games.

At this point, if it's still upsetting you that much, it's time to let go.

Money will be wasted, Bioware can't make a good ending, they're bad at writing conclusions to their main plots.
